Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax Paste

Price & Price Per Ounce:

$15.99

$1.45/ounce

Manufacturer Claims:

After 10 years of research and development into advanced polymer chemistry, Meguiarâ€â„¢s has launched a paste wax powered by ESP technology. The result is the most advanced synthetic protectant available for todayâ€â„¢s modern paint finishes. Our ESP technology eliminates fine scratches and swirls and leaves your finish deeper, wetter, shinier and more reflective. NXT Generation Tech Wax Paste also offers the most durable protection available today by creating a tough polymer barrier film with anti-corrosive agents.

Packaging:

Comes in a bright easy to use tin that allows the supplied applicator to fit well and 'take' product as needed.

Color/Scent/Viscosity:

It's a paste substance and off-white in color with the signature, lime, NXT scent.

How I used (as per instructions):

Apply in thin coats, let haze (10-15 mins), remove with MF towel.

Overall Thoughts:

After washed, clayed, and polished, I applied the NXT Tech Wax Paste with the supplied applicator in very thin coats to the red Saab I was working on. It took me about 7-10 mins to apply to the entire car and after the swipe test, it was ready to remove. I removed with a Meguiar's Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel and it came off without streaking. The finish revealed a deepened, wettened, more reflective red than ever before. I was a bit more impressed with the paste than the liquid on this color for it's more pronounced looks and faster setup time.

Other Notes:

Apply times 2-3 for more brilliance.

I am a member of the Meguiar's Product Testing Team, but this review was purely objective in many ways and the feelings are true.

Great job Sean. i really like the way nxt paste looks on my dark blue metallic paint on my element. It really does give a deep look on my paint which is what im looking for. Once again great job Sean.

I like the paste too. It spreads very nicely, and goes a long way. Nice product, and I had forgotten how nice a paste is after using Gold Class liquid for so long.

I also really like the paste version of NXT, so much so, in fact, I'm giving my bottle of the liquid to my niece. The paste sets up so much faster and when applying by pc, once the pad it primed, a couple small dabs is more than enough.

It seems to really excel on black paint.

How was removal of the NXT paste wax once it set up. Same as the liquid or more difficult? Since NXT does not have any carnauba, I assume there wasn't too much dusting either?

Do you guys really think the paste LOOKS better? I really see no difference at all, in neither looks nor durability. The paste is easier to use in some ways, the liquid in others.

I like them both, but I don't PREFER either. I'll use whichever comes to hand.

Seems about the same, no dusting that I can see. I used it today on a silver G35 coupe over AIO and you could see it darken the paint slightly as it went on and the appearance was definitely wetter.

Tom-based on how both have looked on my car (similar prep), I think the paste is a bit deeper and wetter. Not by a huge margin, though, obviously.

Scott - How are you getting the paste from the can onto your PC pad? That may be a dumb question, but since it is down in the can I just wondered.

To get pastes onto a buffing pad, you can either use a butter knife, or some people like to use the PC wrench. You butter up the pad just like you'd butter up a piece of toast. Or with some pastes, you can pop em out of the can and rub the whole block of wax on the pad.

I was also wondering the same thing. Maybe meguiars wanted NXT to be #16's replacement?

Thats what i was told when i tried to order #16 one place last week, so i figured i would try nxt

Has anyone topped nxt with collinite 845 IW?

Thanks for the review.

I'll have a question ; is it leaving white residue on plastic parts (like some notorious carnaubas)?
