Meguiar's MF mitt vs. Vroom Micro-Chenille Mitt?

I have in front of me one of each. I haven't used either one yet but for some reason Vroom one seems much softer to me. Did anybody use both and what is your experience with them, one vs. other, pros and cons?

i have and use the megs mf wash mitt, and it's held up pretty well thus far. i alternate between that and the SM Arnold wash mitt. i also like the fact that they both are thumbless...

Hey, that's my picture :) I would say both mitts are different. I haven't used Meguiars, but I assume that since it's MF, the nap is not very long and the mitt may have a larger chance of marring the surface. The Vroom is definitely VERY soft and has lots of nap. I think this will have a lesser chance of marring the paint. However, my only problem with this mitt is that it sheds strands of micro-chenille if you aren't gentle with it. So when you rinse, just gently run your hand back and forth in the rinse bucket to get dirt off.

That was my impression too once I had in hand but I still wanted to throw question in the open because my purchase was "online" based on Meguiar's description of their mitt as "the ultimate choice for show car perfect finishes. The clear coat safe Microfiber lifts and traps dirt and grime for a brilliant, swirl-free finish." I will give it a shot but I have a feeling I won't be purchasing more of them.

So does the microfiber mitt have lots of nap, or not as much as the Vroom?

IMO next to nothing, especially when compared to Vroom. I have two really dirty cars to wash (and polish) next weekend. I am not having high expectations so far but I will not judge until I see it in action.

Okay, now how about both of those compared to the Deep Pile Chenille Megs wash mitt?

From what I've heard, the Meguiars Chenille sheds very badly, to the point where it would impair the effectiveness of the mitt. However, judging softness-wise, I would say the Vroom mitt is slightly softer and nicer than the Chenille.

I just bought the vroom mitt and WOW this is very soft I am not a fan of mitts but I HAD to buy this for ONR washes.

Same here... I bought it solely for ONR washes sinse sheepskins tend to shed too much and feel corse when dry after an ONR.

I gotta admit that I love the Vroom products... all of em. I use their MF washing mitts (only when the BHB won't get the stuff off the paint), as well as their applicators and MF towels.

The MF washing mitts stand up to machine washing and drying very well. I pull the plastic liner out before chucking it in the dryer so it doesn't stay wet inside the mitt.

Great quality stuff at Target prices. Really hard to beat.

Okay, so where can i get a good sheepskin mitt?

go to walmart and you can get a eurow sheepskin mitt for around $5, just make sure to pick and feel all the ones they have before purchasing one as they differ in plushness, thickness, etc..

I tried out the Target blue mitt and do not like it at all. This was my first time using a micro-chenille type mitt and came across several issues:

- it held on to a lot of dirt/objects (small grass blades, etc). I needed to look closely to ensure it rinsed well.

- It sheds...a lot

- It felt soft in the store and on initial use, but after a few washes it doesn't feel as soft.

I'll admit I am a long time Eurow sheepskin user and I am the weird guy who feels through all the mitts until I find one I like. But they seem to be a better buy for me. They feel softer and shed less (usually when they start shedding it is end-of-life or wheel duty time) and they release contaminants better. Maybe it's just me but I didn't like the micro-chenille experience all that much.

Yea i was just there last night checking out their stuff and saw that one. I thought man... for 5 bucks something must be wrong with it. It just seemed so cheap... So I didnt pick one up, but seeing as how Im having so much trouble finding one I may have to try that one anyway. I did find these on ebay. Anyone know if they are any good?
