Meguiars FD...Can it be used as a clay lubricant?

At $17/gallon here, it is inexpensive and would serve 2 purposes: Quick Detail and as a clay lube.

Anyone using it as a lubricant?

Yes, you can use Meguiar's Final Detail as a clay lubricant but I prefer not to. I find it is too slippery. I mush prefer to use Meguiar's #34 Final Inspection.

Thanks for the replies.

I have FI in a 16oz bottle and I like it. I have used it for qd'ing and claying with good results. I was looking for an excuse to spend more $$$ on another product. I guess I will pass on it for now.

By all means, get a gallon just for QD! This stuff is great! Much better than FI when doing QD work! Better shine!

Keep the FI for the clay work as stated above from 2hotford! No need to waste FD!

I pay $15.00 through a Megs dealer!

Whoa!!!!!! I said for claying, I would use the Final Inspection.

*BUT, for a QD, I LOVE Final Detail!! It leaves a better gloss and slick feeling on the paint!! Awesome stuff!!!

I use FD as a clay lubricant. I think it's pretty cool. It is quite slick, though. But the feel of the paint after clay and FD is amazing. I dont' care if the slickness makes it harder to clay, the feel is just soo cool (and so fleeting as I then break out the Swirl Free Polish). :D
