meguiars cleaner wax paste

using this product right now and i was wondering how long you are suppose to let the wax sit for a haze before whipeing off, i let it sit for about 5 minutes and when was wiping it off i noticed that it tends to leave alot of dust, any tips thanks

Cleaner/waxes generally do dust more than pure waxes. It’s residue from the cleaning agents. Plus, as with any wax, most people tend to put it on too thick.



Meguiar’s recommends you do the “swipe test.� With a clean fingertip, give the film a quick swipe. If the paint underneath is left clear and glossy the wax is ready to remove. If it’s smeary at all, wait longer. 10 or 15 minutes is common but it can easily be less or more depending on the weather and how thick you apply it.

thanks for the reply, the reason i purchased this wax was i saw the word cleaner on it, well i thought it would take out some of my scratches and help with the oxidation, im wondering now if this was the correct wax to buy or should i do another coat, also would puttin nxt or gold class over this help the looks? of course im doing this all by hand, no pc for me.
 
NXT will remove the prior layer of wax i believe. NXT is also a *mild* cleaner. It will be a different look before, but it wont be layered as NXT will most likely remove most of the cleaner wax that is on there.

where to start.......

OK

1.) scratches are very hard to remove by hand and impossible with a cleaner wax

2.) adding a second coat will not do anything but add some protection



so I think you best bet is to either buy a PC and remove the defects

or use a glaze to hide (fill) the defects

Meg's new version of Cleaner Wax is really pretty nice. It's in a red bottle just like the last version. They added more abrasives and it now has more durability........about 4-5 weeks. That's about what you want when you're in the business of detailing. Any more, without the customer paying, is wasted money.



To me, it leaves one of the softest finishes than any other high-dollar wax out there.



Did I mention it's 5.99?
