I'm new to detailing and I just looked up detailing kit on google and it pointed me to Amazon's Meguiars Complete Car Kit.

Amazon.com: Meguiar's Complete Car Care Kit: Automotive

The kit contains:

16oz. Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner(G7116)

16oz. Gold Class Liquid Wax(G7016)

16oz. Gold Class Endurance High Gloss Gel(G7516)

??oz. Quik Detailer(A3316)

16oz. Quik Interior Detailer(G13616)

Clam Shell for Clay(R30-60-120)

2-50grm Clay Bars(R30-60-008)

??oz. PlastX(G12310)

??oz. ScratchX(G10307)

1 Microfiber Towel(M9910)

1 Foam Applicator Pad(R30-60-241)

1 Microfiber Wash Mitt(X3002)

Generally, Meguiars seems to have a nice, broad range of quality products. However, I want to know exactly how you feel about the specific products in this kit and your experiences with them.

Thanks!

I don't have experience with the liquid wax or PlastX, but I've used all of the others. If you're looking for a simple kit that's not too complicated instead of piecing together all of this from scratch, it's really not that bad. A lot of pros and serious enthusiasts would be able to recommend individual products that are better than each of those products, but it is convenient to buy them all at once.

You'll still need other stuff to complete the collection, but it's not a bad start. You'll definitely want more microfiber towels, and I'd recommend finding a sealant (synthetic wax) that will last longer than the liquid wax there.

Depends on the level of results you're expecting and the amount of effort you'll put into it. Seems like a good price for these average products and the convenience of getting it all together. It's kind of a starter kit. I've used most of these and like the Gold Class wash, clay bars and plastx but I'd pass on the liquid wax, detailer and their MF towels. You can upgrade these as experience and money allows.

something wrong with their liquid wax, detailer, and MF towels?

They're just OK... In the Meg's line I prefer NXT or #21 Synthetic Sealant and the pure Carnuba #26 over the Gold Class. The Ultimate Detailer is easier to use than the regular.

After doing good paint prep work including Einzett Metallic Polish on my bright silver daily driver I recently used the older Gold Class paste wax I had laying around. The Einzett had made the color really pop and the surface slick but the Gold Class dulled it all. Pretty depressing after all that work. Probably good protection but losing the slickness also made the car attract dirt much faster.

I re-did the car this past weekend and after the polish topped it with NXT. This combination gave me the brilliant color, slickness and shine I wanted. I'm not sure about a durability comparison but the car looks like the work I put into it...at least for the time being.
