I was just interested if many people have used this yet. I’m am out of upp and

Need to buy some more sealant .I love the way upp look and feels but after one or two washes the shine and slickness seem to fade pretty quick. So I am considering

Buying some meguiars 21 . And another great advantage of going with 21 is it

Works with all of meguiers products. So if any one can give me some firsthand

Information on 21 and how it compares to other sealants out there I would appreciate it

Thanks … BMG

Ever since reaching autopia, ive tried a couple of sealants. I've come to the conclusion that M21 is the best for me.

It's is SUPER easier to use.

And on my daily driver in So.CAL it's been about 1 1/2 months and it's still moderately slick.

It's inexpensive product/cost.

looks beautiful. Deep and shiny.

As soon as I go through some of the LPSs I already have, I'm going to pick some up. I've heard nothing but good reviews of #21. I know Joe of Superior Shine loves the heck out of it and I know he only uses high quality products in his business.

I like #21. Durability does seem considerably better than NXT, whatever Meguiar's says.

Easy to use but try not to get it on trim. A little bit goes a long way, by hand or machine.

Good thing about it is it works very well as a 1-step on paint that's in good condition, so it's perfect to use on your car every 6-8 weeks or even longer without having to go to AIO or polish beforehand.

Drawbacks are you can't layer it like UPP, and it only comes in half gallons, way too big for most people.

It has a cleaner in it I think. Very professional oriented. Still can't quite understand the major difference between #21 and #20

Why can't you layer it?

Cleaners. You can layer it, but the effect isn't as dramatic as a pure sealant like UPP.

After 3 layers of #21, you'd be hard-pressed to see much difference whereas 3 layers of UPP is just the beginning.

Night and day IMO.

#21 contains No wax and is a pure synthetic. Looks wise on properly prepped paint, I don't think there is too much difference, but if you use both, you can see that there is a huge difference between the product.

IMO, #21 makes #20 seem obsolete.

BTW, 3 *layers* of #21 will definitely give 3 *layers* of UPP a run for its' money. It is also more durable and protects better IMHO.

There was reply earlier in this thread stating not to get it on the trim. I know this is good advice for any LSP, but is #21 a big time trim stainer?

I didn't notice any problems with it staining trim. None.

It is my favorite product. I can't imagine using anything else right now. As far as cleaners, they are truly negligible. And it extends like nothing I've ever seen before. Once you've primed the pad I think you can do the whole car; it's like that stuff from the old Star Trek episode, it just spreads like crazy and sticks to everything.

i put this is the click and brag but... this is the car prepped with PowerPolish and finished with M21

To layer #21 effectively, do you apply the subsequent layers by hand or by PC? I would have thought that PC action would damage the previously applied layer.

Yes, I would apply it by hand to minimize the cleaning abilities. Personally, I find that three layers looks as good as two and is just as durable. Basically IMO three layers is a waste of product.

I would reccommend using Duragloss 601 PBA Polish Bonding Agent prior to a application of 21 to a clean car. The car must be clean. to use Duragloss PBA (Polish Bonding Agent. I have just done my RX8 with 601 and UPP. Waiting for UPP to cure to add another coat. Duragloss PBA (Polish Bonding Agent is some good stuff for polymer finishes.
