Meguiars Wheel Brightener

:inspector: this caught my attention. am i correct in stating mixed 4:1 it is SAFE for factory clear coated wheels? this would be great instead of buying single bottles of wheel/tire cleaner. wonder how it does on tires? interesting....

Always test an inconspicuous spot first! Yes Meg's Wheel Brightener should be safe for most factory finishes and chrome... Keep it away from bare aluminum, anodized, etc...

thanks. i may have to try this after my supply of wheel/tire cleaner is gone. sadly detailing time is getting close to wrapping up for me for the year.

wrapping up? fill those buckets with warm water from the tub. don't let a little cold weather get you down

and as todd mentioned, test WB first before going full throttle

great value for the money, You can get sixteen 32 ounce bottles of wheel cleaner out of one gallon of Wheel Brightener!

I've always been afraid of using WB. I worry I'll ruin some wheels.
Do not use on pitted or damaged wheels as the acid can get under the cc/paint and cause de-lamination of the finish. At 4:1 it's pretty safe for most cc finishes. It's an acid so use caution and don't smell it like someone on this thread.

I just was told that Meg's WB was safe on CC wheels but they have to be cool and rinsed good, this info is coming from a detailer that does lambo's and other exotics all day long and he uses it.

Thanks for the info. I guess I need to give it a try on a test spot next time I get a mess to work on

I'll tell ya, I've used it diluted at the recommended levels by Meguiar's and haven't had one problem....honestly, it works and works well....:bigups

As long as you don't use it on bare or un-coated wheels it's very safe...:bigups
