I have been trying to find the old reliable Meguiars #40 but I can't seem to find it locally. I was in Pep Boys and noticed this new Meguiars product (Meguiars Shine Vinyl Rubber Protectorant). The shine is pretty natural and with 2 apps it does have a nice gloss to the dash etc.

The product does a pretty decent job especially on black trim. It comes out kinda of sudsy so it cuts down on overspray.

I will let you know how it holds up....

Anybody else have any experience with it???

www.meguiars.com you can find it on the site or call the 800 # listed on the site and they will ship it.

I have gallons of #40, it works very well, for best results i clean the vinly first with meguiars all purpose cleaner then i use #40 on it. works great and leaves a lasting look

Meguiars #40 is $31 or so for a gallon. It would be my alternative to Lexol Vinylex (used to be $23 for 101 ounces, but now its like $45, forget that, #40 when I need to restock.)

The Meguiar's Nautral Shine works well, NY detailer has a bottle. Similar to #40......

I have used it on the rubber floor mats but find it kind of thick...I mean very thick....so thick the squirt bottole broke and I had to put into another spray bottle.I wonder if I got bad batch?

It work well and a little goes a long way ,,,maybe I will dilute it.

Hi Pats300zx,

Neve used the Meg #40, see now what you have done. I have to make a trip to my local auto store to see if they have it so I can add it to my list of detailing arsenal...:D By the way, that will be the same place where I picked up my Eagle One Conquors Tire Dressing. And they just restocked their shelf of that stuff. Time for another buying opportunity to stock up.:)

Take care & Aloha,

I had the same experience last week. Went to Pep Boys only to find no #40 so I picked up a bottle of Natural Shine. My experience with the product was very differernt though. I used a terry applicator pad (just like I've done with #40) and the gloss was too much for me to stand, it was also slippery as could be. I ended up wiping down the entire interior with a dry MF cloth and then it was fine. Never had to do that with the #40 though.

Maybe I put it on too heavy.

I find that it doesn't spread evenly. I always have trouble with it, and end out using too much to get it to spread properly. I tried some EO Protectant (lotion, not spray) the other day, and it spreads much better, and leaves a very nice, dry, matte finish. I am going to get some of that when my Natural Shine runs out.
