megs APC PLUS D103

PA DETAILER

DETAILED TODAY?
finally opened my megs apc plus saturday morning. did 4:1 in a spraymaster bottle. items cleaned included wheel wells and rubber floor mats. GREAT CLEANER!! i like the fact this will last some time with the dilution ratio. the orange scent is a bonus.

appears to be much better than the harsh OTC cleaners.

My go to APC. I try to wear gloves when using it because it tend to really dry out your hands worse than you would think.

I just used mine for the first time this weekend as well. I used it to clean my engine bay using the 10:1 dilution. All I can say is I am definetly impressed.

I love this stuff as well. I just used it to clean a greasy floor mat, WOW. 10:1 did the trick, spray, soak, agitate, rinse, hang to dry. I wish I took a few pics, it really turned out great.

Works great cleaning the rest of the interior as well. :rockon

Yes, the diliution makes it last a good time. I've had a gallon for almost two years, and I got about 25oz left in it. This is being used between a household with five vehicle, a trailer, pad cleaning and general cleaning around the house.

It also works as an ant killer....

What's the ratio for that!
:rofl

I think it was just 10:1. In this case, use the MOST aggressive method! We had ants in a cabinet, and instead of looking for the ant killer, I grabbed the APC+ bottle and went to town. They all died....quickly.

Meguiars APC+ has been my only APC for years.
Great price, performance, perfect scent, quick rinsing, and best of all, low foaming.

I also have a gallon of Meguiars APC, and its still at the same mark after I mixed a 32oz spray bottle, for several years now. I dont know if I will ever use it. It also works great, but foams too much for my needs.

Dan, I like the Meg's APC for use in foam gun while stripping waxes. I also use it in my bucket wash. Since it foams it makes it more like a normal car soap wash.

Can it be used on painted surfaces like Blackfire APC. I have a sample of the blackfire apc and it works great, but a little expensive when you can get the megs for same price for a gallon.

I like the foaming action of regular APC at 4:1 for tires so maybe you should give that a shot. but otherwise I agree and stick with the low foamin APC+ for the most part

megs apc+ is the only APC i use for detailing. what i am now doing to save on time and waste of product is i make up a gallon of certain dilutions like 10:1 and 20:1... then i have it pre-diluted dont need to worry just refill and go... i save my old detailer gallons for this. i wouldnt use milk jugs however, use quality gallon jugs. and megs apc+ can be used on paint at lower dilutions, higher dilutions of any apc can leave "drip trails" on paints so i use 20:1 on paint if needed, however i rarely use it on paint as it is not needed most of the time... only area i will spray it on paint is the gas door but that is my preference.

am i going to strong at 4:1 for mats and wheel wells? just following the label. i see above at 10:1 it degreased a engine?!

I bought 2 bottles so I could have 10:1 & 4:1. I like to start with the least aggressive method. I was impressed with APC+ @ 10:1. You may want to give it a try.

Thread revival! Thank you google. :D

I just picked up a gallon of megs APC+ and regular APC (D101) to try in comparison to the Adam's APC I've been using. I was super impressed with the Adam's APC but it's too pricey compared to others and I've heard lots of great things about both meg lines. I will say though, that there was a clump of tar on the inside of a lug nut on a car I recently detailed that I missed during my wheel cleaning. I noticed at the end and went back with some Adam's APC and a brush and to my shock the tar just dissappeared effortlessly.

For those of you that have owned both of the meg's products did you find one was better than the other for a certain task or did the APC+ win for everything? My guess is the foaming action of regular APC would be nice for scrubbing leather, tires and wheel wells, and the low foaming action would be nice on carpets, upholstery, and interior dash/vinyl/plastic.

Your description is how Meguiar's seems to describe them. I have APC+ but always liked other products for heavy duty cleaning (Optimum). When I made the choice Meg's was stated APC+ cleans better but reports I see is just the opposite. I have wanted to get some and decide for myself.

i use it almost daily as well.
my favorite use is 4:1 out of a foaming spray bottle for tires (and sometimes wheels)
works great if not just for that
