Meg DACP

Newbie alert...

I've been reading this board for over a month (and yes, I've used the search thingee, TONS of good advice); but I have a question:

Has anyone had bad experience (ie: _ruining_ a paint job using Meg's DACP with a DA polisher?) I asked, because I've used my PC on my 3 cars (with great success), with Megs products including Fine Cut #2, Machine Glaze, Medallion Cleaner, #9 polish...

BUT NOW, my boss has asked me to detail his 74 yellow vette, which has multiple swirl/spider-web marks throughout the paint. Being the boss's car, I was thinking I should wash, clay, paint cleaner, and evaluate from there. plan a.) If marked improvement, I would then apply #9, and top with a wax.

plan b.) If not, go stronger, perhaps DACP, and work my way back up.

Now, allthatbeingsaid, has anyone had good/bad experience of simply applying DACPto a poorly maintained paintjob, and then topping with a wax?

Thanks for any assistance

I detailed my Father's 1997 BMW 740iL for his Christmas present this year and I used DACP with CMA's yellow cutting pad, followed by P21 GEPC using CMA's white polishing pad, followed by Platinum Ulitimate Paint Pre-Cleaner with CMA's white polishing pad and then finaly Platinum Ulitimate Paint Protection with CMA's grey finishing pad. I have nothing but good things to say about DACP. Here are two pics of the results.

I plan on using this same recipie on my Jet Black 7 series followed with a P21S wax topper the next time I do the complete detail.

Ever work on a car that has NO clearcoat?

Easy does it!

Go one step at a time.

Evaluate your progress.

THEN, select the next product to use, based on your progress.

Having said that, DACP, with light use of a PC Random orbital buffer, would be my first choice.

I did a red 91 miata which was badly oxidized. It had no clearcoat. The results were stunning (not my words, but the owner's). DACP rocks. With a PC, it's pretty safe.

I used DACP, Swirl Free Polish, Hand Polish and Meguiars #26 to bring back the paint on this Explorer (obviously a non-clear coated paint job).

I have great results too with DACP applied with my PC & yellow pad. :xyxthumbs

Here are some pictures of a 1987 Mercedes 460SL no clear coat.

After again

Note the pad will turn the color of the car you are working on its just removing some old dead paint.

After DACP I finished up with #7 and #26. The owner was thinking of have it repainted before he brought it to me now he has change is mind. :D
