Matte black vinyl stripes ruined by local car wash....

Afternoon gents, a customer contacted me about cleaning up his matte vinyl stripes on his new Mustang. He took it to a local place and they used their random orbitals on it to apply wax, but didn't tape off the stripes.

I'm going to take a look at it this week, but are there any go-to products that yall use to, not only clean the stripes, but return them to normal matte coloring?

I don't have any of the Swissvax Opaque products, so I was wondering what else would work to clean them up and protect them.

Thanks everyone!

Hmm, I can't imagine a da ruining stripes, especially when they are just used to apply wax? I have stripes on 2 of my cars and do customer cars with them as well. I have noticed that depending on the wax used, it may leave some behind that is nearly impossible to remove, maybe that was their problem. I use blackfire wet diamond, pinnacle souveran, and Fuzion on my stripes, all with no problems. I did run into a problem when I used DP poli coat. I would personally give the car a wash and apply another wax to see if it removes it with the solvents and is easier to remove.

Did it actually damage the stripes, or just leave residue behind? If it just left some residue, I would start with a mild product like APC or IPA diluted 10:1 and work up until you find a dilution or something else that will remove it. If there is still discoloration after all the residue is removed, the stripes may be damaged and need replacing.
