Just wondered if any of you guys have or have used the Makita BO6040 polisher ?? we use one with an adapted backing plate for the smaller 4" pads with great effect, I personal really like the polisher and get some great results too.

Comments welcome - Mark @ TSC

That's my "go to" DA machine, have two actually. Though, we use it with the stock size plate and 6.5" pads. Solid as a rock.

There really doesnt seem to be too much discussion about this machine recently. All the posts Ive come across are from a year or 2 ago but I am thinking about getting it myself. I currently have a PCXP but need something to cut a little faster. I think Im finally about to graduate from hobbyist to a detailer with a local reputation but since the vehicles Im working on have barely been cared for its taking me some time to correct these cars up to 5-7 hours! I need something to cut faster so I can attract more customers and Im trying to decide on getting the Bo6040 or if the standard Makita 9227 rotary would be better. All the comments Ive read on the Bo6040 are about its DA capabilities and the rotary feature doesnt seem to impress. Between those 2 is the BO6040 worth the extra $100?

Z06 - what pads/products do you use? I'm considering a B06040 since getting some pain in my knuckle joints using the PC's. I'm thinking the heavier and padded Makita would be faster and easier on me (getting old ain't for sissies!)

OK, I have to jump in here and ask about this product also. I am looking to upgrade and would appreciate some current input. For you that have it would your recommend it as a machine to do all or just a good DA? Or is it better to go with a combo like a Griots and Makita 9227? Thanks
