Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

I’m currently participating in a fund raiser for breast cancer research and I want to let you know of an opportunity to help support cancer research. The only thing I’m going to get out of this is likely blisters on my feet, so don’t think of this as spam or anything. In fact, I am having knee surgery in October and will likely have to do the walk on crutches, but I’m going to be there if at all possible.

Cancer has touched everybody in some way I believe. I have lost people who are very close to me and I know you all have too. My mother is a ten year survivor of breast cancer, but even when you survive there are still parts of you that don’t make it. She is a very different person today than she was before this last bout with cancer and I am walking in memory of the parts of her personality and her life that she lost.

Please visit this page if you would like to donate. I set a low goal to raise $300, but personally I am hoping to double that. I am going to be donating the full amount from my next couple of details to it, so hopefully I’ll meet and exceed my silent goal. :)

Any amount that you want to donate is great, but I don’t want anyone to feel obligated. If nothing else, wish me luck and pray for me that I’ll be able to walk in this event. I really do mourn the loss of who my mother used to be as well as the memory of so many friends who have died from cancer. Anything I can do to help fund research to beat this thing is worth doing. Thanks for your support!

Nice.
As alot of you know, my son had cancer as well as my wife.

That is a great thing you are doing. We did something similar. Last year and the year before. We raised a few grand for cancer research. It was the "Light the Night Walk" I wish I could donate, but we are doing the same thing right now.

For anyone thinking of donating to Jman....... ANYTHING helps out.....Anything.

I wish you luck Anthony, and hope you greatly exceed your goal. Best wishes, and let me know how you do!!!!!

Very Noble of you Jngrbrdman and a worthy cause. My mother is also a breast cancer survivor. More recently she had rectal cancer and has beat it. Cancer is not the killer it used to be because of research and treatment developments. I am amazed at people that beat the odds and go through life changing treatments. I took my mother everyday for 2 months of radiation
and chemo treatments. It was a very life changing event for me. Going there everyday and seeing these people go through this stuff. I give through my paycheck now. I have ever since my father passed from cancer. Seeing children having it is the worst. I saw people from all walks of life going to take my mom everyday. I hope that someday we all can beat this awful
disease. Kudos to you Anthony for helping this cause.

Best of luck, Anthony.

My Aunt and Grandmother both had breast cancer. They fought it and won!

I just made a donation.

Good Luck Anthony,
My daughter Nichole walked 39 miles over 2 days for the Avon Breast Cancer Walk June 3rd - 4th with her best friend after her Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer ,also Lori and our 4 daughters do a Walk for Hope to Cure breast Cancer every year in Oct.

This is a great thing your doing:ladies The Girls with the Pink Ribbons in there hair. Perfect time to use this one..

HI Anthony,Ive been thinking about the walk and the fact you had a bad knee. in need of surgery I just wanted to congratulate you on doing such a noble thing.

Thanks guys. :) I'm not any more nobel than the people who live with and survive this terrible disease, but I appreciate the kind words. My orthopod has been working with me to get my knees ready for the walk and to make sure I don't do any further damage in the meantime, so hopefully everything will go well. It's only a 5 mile walk, so I should be ok as long as it isn't up and down a lot of hills. It is through downtown Salt Lake, so it should be pretty flat. :bigups

May your walk go well. My male cousin died recently from his 3-4 year battle with cancer. He had breast cancer, got a clean bill but it came back and spread everywhere. He was 44.
