Making Ratios and Dillutions

I was wondering the best way to mix up a ratio and dillute a concentrate. For example, how would u guys mix APC+ in a bottle with a 20:1 ratio???

Thanks, Dave

I would use one of my 32 oz spray bottles. I'd add 20 oz of water and then 1 oz of APC. I'd use the markings on the bottle for the water, as accuracy there isn't such a big deal, but I'd use my measuering cup I use for measureing my car wash to measure the APC.

I can't think of an easier or more accurate way. Unless you have a 21 oz measuring cup and a funnel maybe.

You can find a chart on dilution ratios here: http://www.hillsideonline.com/dilution.html

That chart's more useful than some I've seen because it takes into account that you're trying to fill a container (24 oz., 32 oz., etc.) of a specific size, so you can't just do simple division. For example, at 1:20, you'd need 1.6 oz. of concentrate to add to 32 oz. of water (32/20). But what if you want to end up with a quart of mixed solution? Then you need add x oz. of concentrate to (32 - x) oz. of water in a 1:20 ratio (solve for x, left as an exercise for the reader :D).

The chart takes that into account, and provides ratios from 1:4 to 1:256 in common increments.
