I am looking for what products people on here recommend for a great, show quality wash and wax. I know everyone has there own products that they like. But, I would like to know what to look for. It can be store bought or direct from the maker. Large company to someone that makes it in their garage. I've checked out the sections where they are broken down by what you are looking for, but the search button didn't answer my questions. All people talk about on the forums that I regularly go to use Zaino. I know they sell everything you would need. I'll make a list:

1. soap
2. clay bar
3. wax
4. swirl remover
5. scratch remover

And anything else that I'm missing. Thanks guys :dcrules

I find money for quality you really can't beat Poorboys for everything that you have listed...good products that are user friendly, by hand or machine...can be used in the sun...and will not leave you broke at the end of it all.

as for OTC I really don't buy them any longer

I agree with Beamerboy, anything that comes from Poorboys is great stuff that wont break the bank in the end.

Not to mention, great people to deal with and who will bend over backwards to help you out and get you going in the right direction.

There is no one panacea for all vehicle ailments. Year, make, model, color, how the vehicle has been maintained thus far as well as how much time you will be investing to get it show ready and how much time you will be dedicating in maintaining it show level are just a few of variables that will determine what to use. "Show Car" results can be obtained by the use of many different products at many different $$$ levels, however, the final results will ultimately be a result of the steps taken to get there. Procedures, IMO, are more important than product. What works for one person might not work for someone else; experience and skill all to often play a part in the final results. Many here pitch Poorboys line-up which may or may not be the way to go. If you ask many local distributors may give you some samples to evaluate what works best for you at your skill level for your particular application.

My $0.02 would be to find something that works for you, then use it diligently.

For years I have been using products from a local distributor called HD Products I have been pretty pleased overall. Though ever since I have been visiting this forum I have heard nothing but good things about Poorboys products. It gets me wondering if Poorboys is that much better than my HD products, and if so why.

What ever works for you is the way to go :drive:

IMHO, "show car" look is about preperation, not the final wax. If you spent 12 hours polishing, and did a good job, probably even a cheep OTC wax like Turtle or something will make it look good.
But for ease of use, I use Poorboy's polishes & natty's blue wax (or Pinnacle Souveran for LSP). I sometimes use more aggressive polishes for a first step.

Ever since i started usins Poorboys products iits hard to go to some thing else. Havnt really tried swirl removers that much, but have some ssr1, Nattys, PBS WASH, clay and spray and wipe. As said before, YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH POORBOYS. RANDAL

I was using P&S before I started posting here and much like you, I was wondering what this PB line was all about...that was 4 years ago and I am still happy with his line....that's not saying that I have dropped P&S all together...I still buy things from them that I like a lot...mainly gallons as I can pick them up and save on freight...if I could encourage you to try a few things from PB that would be....P-w-C...NL...TR...there are more but those stand out for me
