Maintianing that Sealant Slick Feeling

I had not used my DP Premium Surface Shield in a while. A few weeks ago I did a detail on the wife's Quest using Chem Dudes Citrus Wash to strip the surface. I followed up with DP Premium Surface Shield. I let it bond overnight and the next day the Quest had such a nice slick feeling to it.

One week later the car still felt slick. I did a quick wash with DP Extreme Foam and the foam Gun and followed up with another coat of the DP sealant.

Now, about 3 weeks later with a weekly wash the slick feel is gone. Is there something I can use to boost that slick feel until a new coat of sealant is applied?

Thats what I was wondering. I seem to recall there being a DP spary sealant but it appears to be gone now. There is a Wolfgang one. Any other products recommended?

A good QD after a wash will add slickness but you'll need to apply it after each wash. My current favorite for adding slickness is FK425.

Zaino Z-8 really is pretty good stuff even though it isn't cheap, and it seems to work well over other sealants too. Based on reviews (I haven't tried it yet) Aquawax would be my next choice and it is a bit cheaper than Z-8.

FK425 and Meguiars M135 or UQD (consumer line) to help use before washes or as you dry. Optimum Spray wax and Prima Hydro are great spray waxes, use after a wash whenever you feel the need.

I use Spray & Gloss before drying on a wet car and then follow sometimes with QD+ and it's always slick and glossy:bigups

I started this thread after I had washed the Quest (using 1Z perls) and finished with a wipe down of PB S&G. Later in the evening I ran my fingers over the surface and it did have a slick feel. Not as much as right after a sealant but slick none the less!

I concur. Now that I have both products, the QD+ being the newest, I find that maintenance is much easier. I also have the PB spray wax and use it once a month.

Thanks, I've not used either of these product lines. I hear good things about both lines.

I have been using QD+ after my weekly washes on my car till I put on another coat of sealant.
I have been trying Meg's UQD on my wifes car with some nice results as well.

Wolfgang Spritz Sealant will work quite well. What you're most likely experiencing is residue left behind from soap or minerals in your water (it's pretty much unavoidable to an extent). Spritz Sealant or DP Final Gloss QD would be my suggestion.

Update on the Sealant slick feeling.

It rained a bit here in Big D so the wife's Quest was in need of a wash. I used PB SS&S with a splash of Bug Squash in the Foam Gun.

After drying the Quest with a Cobra Guzzler, I decided to apply a coat of DP Premium Sealant. It goes on and off so easy. The paint feels great today.

As soon as I finish with this bottle of DP Premium Sealant (it will take a wile, a little gos a long way) I want to try PB EX-P.

Thanks for this. I was unaware S*G could be used in this manner. I just used QD+ on my S60-T5 Volvo and... a mosquito tried to land on the car and broke its neck.

I have both products. DP is good but EX-P is better. One goes on like a spray and the other like a cream. I just used PB White Diamonds followed by EX-P and topped with Natty's Red. A very nice combo indeed. I've been keeping it up with QD+ weekly with S&G during the week. A little of both goes a long way whent he finish is kept up-to-snuff.

(I mixed DP sealant with AW, ICE and OCW becuase they are all polymer based sprays and I was low all of them. Oddly enough, the mixture works well for what that's work.

Unfortunately, my post contained gramatical errors because I was wasn't wearing my glasses. I trust that the gist of what I said came through.

"mosquito ..." :rofl

Very funny! I've been wanting to try the EX-P for a while. I may have to break down and buy some before the DP runs out.

I also use the S&G but after the drying session. I have used the S&W though with the vehicle still wet and that also works nice.
