Maintenance polishing

Any recommendations on which of the following are excellent for twice a year use with a Porter Cable ? Looking for ease of use for a newbie.

Optimum GPS

Menzerna SF4000 (LSP would be needed)

Sonax Nano Tech Paint Cleaner

HD Speed

Blackfire Total Polish and Seal

Great question and I am anxious to see what the answers are.

I'll give you my thoughts. Depends a lot on your paint hardness in my opinion. On my harder paint I think something like Meguiars 205 might be a good maintenance polish, but it doesn't do a lot for removing defects...for me.

So, I am interested in hearing from others.

I can't really help here as I've never used any of those products.

When you say "maintenance polishing", does that involve any correction in the sense of correcting marring like "wash swirls" or is it just to clean the paint and ramp up the gloss a little bit?

Minor correction of inevitable swirls and also gloss up the paint. M205 was considered, but is not low dust.

Depending on the paint, you might need to get more aggressive than you think to diminish any marring. M205 never did it for me on my paints (and I'm not a big fan of that product either).

Not to get off-topic, but I do wonder about "inevitable" marring that needs attended to biannually  Every other year or so I could understand.

My choice would be Menzerna SF4000

Isn't that basically the same as one of their "106" polishes?

If so, that might be good for this; I just did the older Crown Vic with the Blackfire version of it and while it didn't do any correction to speak of, it did affect a nice boost in the gloss.
