Maintaining And Caring For a Satin Black Finish

As the title says, if one were to have a matte/satin finish on their car, at some point or another it will need a wash and clean to get water spots and other normal road grime off it. Obviously polishing is a no-no since it'll probably ruin the finish, right?



Is there a special process that must be followed when caring for a matte finish?



What about 3M clearbra-ing the whole car after the paint is done cureing?
 
I have some flat/satin black painted areas on my 4-runner and I use Klasse AIO on that. I don't think you could polish it with an abrasive.
