M5 Detail

I hope no one is expecting anything great from this car.......come to find out it's a repaint:(

I found this out after washing it and being able to inspect it under the sun. Hood, trunk, at least 2 doors and both rear panels. Now I understand why the previous owner sold it.....what I don't understand is why no one can paint worth a darn:nixweiss

Here is a BEFORE of the hood

I started thsi detail with a generous amount of taping off.....claying and then Hi-Temps Extreme Leveler and an orange LC pad.

Followed that by Hi-Temps Medium Cut and a white polishing pad. I think that this "Med. Cut", at least for me, will replace my using DACP.

Here is a BEFORE of the trunk area

This M5 had a Dinan exhaust on it which made it sound awesome, but they looked horrible:scared

Finished out the buffing with Menzerna IP, AIO by hand and sealed with FMJ.

I was going to use TS but the car sits outside all day in the sun si I opted for the FMJ.

Now again keep in mind it's a re-paint....here are some AFTERS

Now for the trunk.....the trunk had some real nasty and deep scratches, some were leveled out and the others only lightened up a bit.....some minor scratches left but it came out pretty good.

Last pic of the rear area.......I wish the paint was in better shape but hey.....they can't all be garage queens, eh?

tell me about it... I was workign on a buddy's E36 M3, and used almost a whole roll of blue 3M tape :shocked

there are so many black moldings on those cars, it's not even funny :dance It's a shame to see such a nice car parked outdoors all day :o

Sweet ride. So sad to see it was neglected.

Excellent work though, it really came out a whole helluva lot better!

What did you use on the exhuast?

Thanks........I use Rolite for all my metal polishing. It comes in 3 grades....a cutter, a medium polidh and a fine polish. They also make a sealer for metal but I have never used that.

Anthony gets a blue M5.

I get a blue Pathfinder.

Anthony you did great work on it. :) You always don't get cars that you can get 100% looking new but I'd definitely be more than happy with the job you did. :)

The M5 is an awesome car. Too bad that the owner let it get in such bad shape. As always, great job Anthony!

Your brain will forgive you once it sees that bank account:D :D :D...

Yeah, that's true....BUT while I have made some nice cash I now have no time to enjoy it!!

I may have outgrown my mobile status and I may need to now look for a fixed location and hire a few detailers/helpers.

several weeks ago it was nothing but rain and I prayed daily for sunshine.....well we have had nothing but sunshine and I am working 10-12 hours a day......Needless to say I am now praying for rain:D :D

God must be going :nixweiss

Anthony nice work on the M5. I can just imagine the exhaust note with the Dinan. Tips look nice.
