M105 Micromarring Mercedes Clear

Yesterday I asked how using Megs 105 would work on Mercedes Clear with a PC. Someone responded by saying they thought it micromarr the crap out of it. Do other people agree with this? What should I use instead, the car is an 07 GL450.

micromaring is normal after a coumpound

(from what I read105 should have less but it is still normal)

just finish up with a fine polish

Although #105 is one of the best finishing heavy compunds out there, you still must remeber that it is a compound. I have not used #105 with a PC (nor do I ever intend to). However I would assume that a PC would not break down the abrasives as well as a rotarty, so the finish would end up with more micromarring. A good polish in either case (rotary or PC) should take care of it though. :waxing:

I thought that the idea behind M105 was that there are tons of super hard fine abrasives based on their Unigrit stuff and that the abrasives do not break down and keep cutting. And that Megs controls the cut by only giving you just enough lubrication to work the polish for a very short time. It doesn't sound like there is any real breaking down of the polish. But a rotary should obviously give you more cutting action than a PC

As I've stated before the abrasives in some of these new compounds and polishes are so hard that I don't believe that they fully break down. I do think it's possible that they lose their sharp edges so they give the illusion that they break down.
