Hey everybody! Just finished up a 2006 STi, wanted to share it with you. This was an interesting car, as the whole drivers side had been replaced after an accident. As a result, it was covered in orange peel. The rest of the car was in pretty decent condition, with the roof being an exception. I had to spot all the defects with LED, since no swirls showed up under halogens
.
Anyway, the process was as followed:
Wash: Foamed with P21s TAW, CG Two Bucket Citrus Wash, Shmitt
Clay: DI Fine Claybar, CG Synthetic QD
Second Wash: CG CWG
IPA Wipedown
1-Step Polish: Menzerna Power Finish, LC Green (roof), LC White, LC Tangerine. (Different sections required different combos)
Final Wash: CG CWG
LSP: Prepped with P21S paint cleanser, sealed with BFWD. Wheels sealed with poorboys wheel sealant.
Dress: CG VRT on wheels and trim, Stoners IG.
On Arrival:
Foamed:
Defects. This was the correction on the non-orange peeled panels:
Before
After
Menzerna bottles are useful, it was an aftermarket trunk that had to be held open
Too much tape
Afters!
Polished with P21S polishing soap, waxed with CG metal wax.
Thanks for Looking!
