Ok everyone....

Im getting ready to start my Spring detailing buying spree.. as there are a few products that I need.

Ive decided that im going to get a rotary and try that (not on the Black Mustang but on my other car. I figure why not learn on the beater!

Also I need some Car wash Soap, Leather Conditioner, Wheel Cleaner, Carpet stain remover, Stainless polish, Billet polish, varius different brushes(wheel, tire, wheel well, carpet, ect) Pads for the rotary ...i have some from my PC (can I use those)...

I am also low on my SSR's so I think im going to pick up the whole crew SSR1, SSR2, SSR 2.5, and SSR3(not sure weather i really need 3 though)

So anyway... Id really appreciate some ideas here, Who has a large selection of brushes I can look at, Whats a good Rotary for the weekend detailer?

I think thats it...
Thanks for the help!

The products that everyone here uses are all a matter of preference. However, 99% of all the products mentioned are truly great and serve their purpose; finding the right ones to suit your needs is a matter of trying everything you can regardless of what anyone says. Some of my favorites for the types of products you are looking for are:
Rotary: I own the Makita and have used Porter Cable, If I had to choose again I would buy the Porter Cable because of its extra weight.
Soap: The most popular here would have to be NXT which is found locally and is cheap, I use 4* conc. with no complaints.
Leather Conditioner: I assume you'll be cleaning the leather with the Woolite/water mix so as for a conditioner 4* is great as are Pinnacle and 1Z. For neglected leather Leatherique is the best.
Wheel Cleaner: Every wheel cleaner I have used has honestly worked great. However, because of the price I use HiTemp's from TOL.
Capret Stain remover: I think everyone now uses Sean's Oxyclean/water/APC mixture, it truly works the best. As for spot treatments for heavy soilage Eimann Fabrik and 303 are great. Folex, at Target, was just brought up and seems to be a great product at a great price.
Metal Polish: Zephyr or Flitz work great on metal the needs a polishing, as for very well maintained stainless and billet go with Adams Polish #2, non-abrasive.
Brushes: I really only use bushes for really badly neglected areas and a wheel brush for "mesh" style wheels; they are all from OXO.
As for pads for the rotary I really like the Lake Country brand pads. If you are looking to pick up all of the products at once contact one of our sponsors and have them help you put together an order. Good Luck.

Wow ... thanks for all the info...

Im not really sure im ready to spend that much money on a rotary... maybe I can pick up something used on E-bay so that I can try it ...then get my self into something a bit nicer.

Lets talk about Flitz! Does anyone use the Flitz polishing ball? How good are the Flitz polishes ... I haven't seen any before and after images posted other than the infomertial which you can never trust (it could have taken someone Days to get that but they wouldln't tell you that)

Thanks again

IMO, here's what I'd buy.

Car wash = Poorboys super slick and suds. Ton's of lube and suds, a fantastic product!

Wheel cleaner: Poorboys spray and rinse. It's the best I've ever used for cleaning tires, wheels, and wells. If this product doesn't clean your wheels it's time to break out #000 wool and an acid based cleaner!

Leather: The folks at Top of the Line turned me onto a product called Leather Masters. I absolutely love it. (I also use wool lite and water for mild cleaning).

If your considering a rotary, I'd pick up some menzerna intensive polish and final polish II.

Car Wash - PB SS&S
Leather Conditioner - 4* Ultimate
Wheel Cleaner - Eagle One A2Z
Carpet Stain Remover - Folex
Metal Polishes - Flitz
Brushes - OXO (autopia)
Rotary Pads - 7.5" Lake Country Concaved Buffing (I use polishing 90% of the time)

For polishes via rotary, I like all of the Menzerna ones a lot. They seem to suit rotary use the best.
