Looking for LC Rotary to DA adapter

i find the da to rotary backing plate adapter scary to use with a DA polisher. I usually have my hand wrapped around the counterweight shroud and if I had a da to rotary adapter, it would expose the counterweight. Once slip of my finger and id be down a finger.

Same here. There have been reports of them shearing off, with catastrophic consequences. The motions of the RO/DA are apparently pretty tough on those adaptors. Yeah, yeah..."they're perfectly OK". Right up until they're not.

I usually palm the top or wrap my hand around it also and i can see what you mean about the potential risk...i mainly wanted it to use with my 3" rotary backing plate...as i just dont want to drop nearly $30 on the Megs 3" BP...i tried the Buff and Shine one...not impressed...after only a few uses the piece that screws into the center of the backing plate (its a double sided screw) has stripped the threads....guess you get what you pay for huh?

I can imagine the consequences would be pretty catastrophic if the thing actually sheered off....wow...i think i'd want to die if i was using that on someones car and taht happened. Think i should just get the Megs 3" BP?

Knocking on wood, no i havent. I have a g100 that is much older then the griots and g110v2's by years, and it still powers on. Granted the strain relief finally broke and the brushes are probably pretty worn, but it still powers on.

It is a perfect fit. Here Im working on a Jag. This is the backplate on a surehold polisher. I was removing sand marks in a tight spot. Take notice I'm using this backing plate with a 3 inch microfiber.

Thats very cool. I might grab one or two. My LC 4" bit the dust today....it separated lol....i might try hot gluing it back together though, it worked with older 5" BPs. So does the 3" with D300 remove the sanding marks pretty easily?
