Looking for a thick pencil like brush with stiff bristles

I now have 2 different kinds of PPCL from the generosity of 2 of our members (thank you guys ;)). I will post a review once I know what to call either type of PPCL! One is a nice citrus-scented liquid with the consistency of milk.

The other is a nasty chemical smelling stuff that is much thicker and a little more yellowish than the first one.

Which is newer? Which is better? FWIW, the first one was gotten off of ebay by wolfsburg and the second from _____ during the Pinnacle sale by another user who may identify himself here if he wishes.

I'm about to order more PPCL from Tacscar.com and I don't know which one they have! My email hasn't been answered yet, has anyone ordered PPCL from there recently?

Yeah wierd, does it look more like AIO?

The ppcl that I have is a milky very citrious smelling liquid, very white in color, kinda thin in texture.

YoSteve.Com thanks for the valuable input!

<span style='font-size: 8px;'><span style='color: royalblue'>(I got mine from e-bay, a month and a half ago, a car company was getting rid of stock so it's not new probably, it came in a flip top lid (if that helps))

I got mine from CMA three weeks ago with my BlackFire order.

Thicker, nasty smelling.

Don't know what it might be that others have!

I am writing an email to CMA to gather more information.

1. What are the two different formulas?

2. Which is "newer"?

3. Which one works more effectively, and why has the formula change?

From the information we've gathered here it seems the 'older' PPCL is the milky liquid that smells of citrus. A little thicker than milk.

The newer formulation is the thicker, nasty-smelling one in the flip-top container. I'm not sure which one worked better for me...hard to say. I did remove SMR hazing with a few harder applications of it though (both formulations).

It would be very interesting to see why the formulation changed. It would also be great for people to know how long the stuff lasts on the shelf! That question has come up before but I don't know that anyone asked CMA about it.

peterbum, but mine is thin, milky white one, in the flip top cotainer, it is really citriusy smelling

is the nasty one not citriusly smelling? Is mine the nasty one?

I have just sent the email to CMA. Here is the email.

Members of the Autopia detailing forum have come across two "different" formulations of Pinnacle Paint Cleansing lotion. One is a milky, citrus smelling liquid, the other a thicker, yellow-white colored, chemical smelling formula. I purchased several bottles of PPCL from Pinnacle Wax.com. My bottles of PPCL contain the thicker, chemical smelling formula. Some members have older bottles of PPCL with the milky citrus liquid.

Are there multiple formulations of PPCL, and if so, why have multiple formulas been developed?

Also, which formulation is designed to work better with new clear coats, and which is the more recent formulation? Does the thicker consistency formulation contain the same citrus based cleansers that the milky liquid contains?

I really want to make sure that the PPCL I have purchased is not merely an old bottle which is beyond its expiration date. If so I plan to return all 5 bottles. I have not had a chance to use the PPCL due to weather conditions here in Richmond, VA, but I don't want to use spoiled PPCL on my pride and joy.

I say spoiled because some members of Autopia have speculated that maybe the thicker consistency formula is merely old PPCL which has spoiled.

I look forward to your reply.

Now, just a disclaimer. I came up with the idea that maybe the thicker stuff is outdated PPCL. Again, this is merely my speculation. Highly unlikely, but I wanted to ask CMA.

Oh yeah, I bought the 5 bottles during Pinnaclewax.com's 9.95 sale on PPCl. I plan to give three bottles as Christmas stocking stuffers to fellow car enthusiasts. I want to make sure this stuff is okay before I give it out.

Puterbum,

The PPCL I sent you is from CMA which I purchased about a month ago as part of their Sizzling Shine package.

Cool, thanks for the info Intermezzo. We'll see what the results of this are..It is interesting that both formulations have been purchased recently. It does <em class='bbc'>seem[/i] that the majority of the PPCL purchased recently is the thicker, chemical smelling kind.

However I can merely speculate as I do not have enough experience with these. Perhaps someone like DavidB or another who has been using the product for a good deal of time can add some knowledge to this?

I also purchased my PPCL from ebay as part of the Souveran kit and it is creamy white with a citrus aroma. This is my first time using PPCL and I noticed that it was hard to buff off with a microfiber towel, it kind of left a greasy residue. I wasn't too concerned because right after the PPCL, I applied 2 layers of AIO and then went straight to SG.

From that "other" post about PPCL leaving micro-scratches, I'll probably never use this bottle of PPCL again. Unless I read otherwise.

Scooby, from your description. It sounds like you have the newer version. I used the old formula when I was getting the micro-marring and I was also probably using bad technique.

I have the milky white and a citrus smell with the flip top. I noticed that it leave a greasy residue on everything I try it on. I have stopped using it because of this reason.
