Looking for a specific leaf blower thread. Help!

I remember recently stumbling across a writeup on a gas powered leaf blower where the owner used some pipe and rerouted the exhaust on the leaf blower to blow away from his car, not towards it. I can't remember if it was on this forum or not though... I do remember the body of the leaf blower was orange if that helps. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
 
What do you guys think of the Chemical Guys one? Is it powerful enough to use on wheels and the entire car? I'm looking for a smaller one since my garage at my apartment near school is narrow, but it needs to be powerful, and preferably quiet, although noise is my least concern.
 
That's an awesome blower. I'm liking my Air Wand, maybe in time there can be a cordless version and I'd also love to find a hedge trimmer that runs on propane like that!

Yeah, that's one of those things that when I saw, I thought... wow, why didn't I think of that??? I just picked up the trimmer. I hated smelling like two stroke oil.
 
I'd like to keep this from turning into just another blower thread....



Anyone else seen that topic somewhere? I verified its not on DB or L2D, and I don't think its here.
 
Do you know about when you saw it?



I just did a search going back to 2009, didn't see any mention of it.



Did you try Autopia Forums?
 
I saw it right after the internet started working in my new place, which was August 10th, this year lol.



It had recent replies, so if the last reply is older than July, then thats not the right thread. Unless the site sorts the thread based on the creation date, and that I don't know.



I'm going through Autopia Forums now, but haven't finished. Going through with a fine tooth comb....
 
Okay, I'll keep looking in my travels too. Although from the sounds of it, it might be a set up that's more of a hassle than worthwhile but lets find the thread and see...

I'm not interested in doing the mod itself, I'm interested in the photo explanation of the reason the mod is necessary. The OP shows how much oil gets blown onto the car. I have a thread on this subject on another forum and I mentioned that thread because it would help show what actually happens with those gas powered blowers. But now I can't find it.
 
I have a Redmax 7000, it's probably 10-12 years old and still runs great. I don't see how any oil gets on a car unless you have too rich a mix AND turn your back toward the car and nail the throttle. Then you have bigger worries, especially if you get stupid close! I use it occasionally to blow off a car, but most of the time, I like to take ny time with a MF towel and inspect the finish as I go.



BTW - that and a Stihl Farm Boss 20" bar, came in rather handy after Irene blew threw last weekend.
