Ok, car is about 2 years old. What should I use? I got #9 but people say its not strong enough, and recommened either #80 or ssr2.5. Will either of those handle this task?



Also, rather than making a new topic, I'll ask this hear. I've heard SG is might give the car a more plastic, shiny look. If I top it with nattys blue which is made for darker colors, will the nattys overpower the SG and still give it that deep, wet look? Or will SG affect nattys?

Yeah, no way the #9 will handle that. Depending on how hard your paint is, the #80 might work fine or you might need to use something stroner (e.g., #83) first. Note that #80 leaves "polishing oils" behind, which do a bit of hiding. Using the AIO (to allow the KSG to bond) will clean these oils off and might make some leftover marring "come back".



As for the varying looks of topped/untopped KSG, I'd say you'll just have to try stuff and see what *you* think. But then I get kinda :rolleyes: about some of the specific-LSP-look stuff that some people get so worked up about, even though I have some strong opinions of my own ;) I'd get rid of the marring first; I don't use stuff like the Klasse twins unless I can get a basically marring-free finish anyhow. To me, the condition of the paint is the big thing, and usually the big part of the job too.



No law that says you *must* use something like the Klasse twins ;) Wonder how it'd look with just #80 topped with the Natty's...by the time you get the marring out you might be ready to wrap things up with just a quick coat of wax.
 
Yeah, but not to the extent that #80 does. You'll almost certainly need to use the #80 after the #83 anyhow though. Most people can't get a perfect finish with the #83 and #80 is the standard-answer product to use next.
