Longtime Lurker- Finally registered

I've been lurking here for a few years and finally decided to join so I can learn how to combat some of my detailing issues.

I operate a small detailing business in my spare time with my partner- We do about 50 some cars a year on average. Most of my cars I come across are very average and the customers are thrilled with what I offer, however I want to step it up and learn how to use a PC/ buy one- I'm quite overwhelmed with the amount of liquids/ products/ and brands people use and names thrown around of products. I want to see through it.

My personal car is a 2004 Pontiac GTO M6 in Pulse Red. It's been my nemesis in that I bought it when it had 24,000 miles on it and the previous owner did NOTHING to care for it, I have since spent countless hours bringing up the paint and making it look showroom condition. It's a beautiful car as is to 90% of the population However- I can only do so much by hand and if I bring it in a garage it looks awful under the lights. So it's my goal to bring it to the next level.

I'm proceding with caution, I dont want to become any more OCD about car care then I already am- however I think I am reached my limits with products by hand.

Hi Chris, welcome to Autopia! :welcome

A PC is definitely a great weapon for your detailing arsenal. Don't worry about being a little overwhelmed at first. The fact that so many suppliers have chemicals and pads for them is an indication of just how indispensable the the PC has become.

Even with so many different options to wade through it's really easy to come up with a combination that works. The bottom line is that the systems from any of companies we talk about around here work well. They couldn't stay competitive if they didn't.

Just pick one and go with it. As you get more experience you can play around, make changes, try new stuff and dial in a combo that's just right for you.

So stick around, learn, experiment and have fun.
