Hi everyone! We haven’t had much time to post in a while as we have been BUSY! I try to poke my head in from time to time, but my time in front of a computer has been *limited* (thankfully)!
Just figured I would drop in and share a few cars that we actually had time to take pictures of….hope everyone is doing well.
First up is a five series (someone from autopia referred to him to us via a bmw forum—thank you!)—everyone already knows what has happened to it by the pictures…rotary jockey.
Before:
Here are a few inside the shop. If anyone is thinking of improving their current lighting I highly recommend 1000 watt metal halide (in conjunction with fluorescent as well as incandescent).
We corrected the paint with M105/orange pad/flex followed by M205/red pad/flex, we sealed with M21.
This Bel Air went through the mecum auction about two years—owner is trying to sell it and wanted it to be at its “maximum potential.” She had the normal sading marks, wipe scratches, etc (even a few burns).
Sorry about the color and the different angles in the pics—I can’t take pics out of “auto” and we had to move the car during the detail for logistical reasons.
This Porsche needed a bit of tlc as the owner tended to “wipe it down after each drive.” We corrected the paint and did our best to persuade him to either “wash it, or leave it alone.”
Accumulator, we do use a bit of 476s, but the humidity here seems to effect application/removal during *our* process. The TSO's in M205 combined with the humdity seem to cause what I would call "outgassing" issues. Seems that 476s while curing in the humidity does not mix well with TSO's causing horrible streaks and pseudoholograms (I think you coined that term!) that require repolishing to remove (or at least a strong chemical cleaner. Does that even make sense?
