My aunt in moving here to San Diego because of a career change. She had her car shipped from Dallas and it arrived yesterday. Needless to say, the car (1998 Toyota Camry, dark red) was absolutely filthy when it arrived and was an autopian nightmare. I don't know what the condition of the vehicle was when it left her home, but the interior especially needed some reconditioning. She ended up taking it to a car wash/detailing business to get it clean. The package she chose provided a wash, vacuum, interior shampooing, and tire dressing. The experience did not leave her completely satisfied, so some questions....
First thing I noticed is that when she came home, her interior was covered in plastic and she said she was a little wet. The guy there told her to leave her windows open over night to dry the car from the inside. Is this normal after an interior shampooing? Then I noticed a faint, but large stain on her passenger seat. Apparently when she went to check on her car, there was a huge coffee stain on the passenger seat. She immediately questioned the guy working on the vehicle. He said the coffee stain was already there when he arrived. He was either not telling the truth, or someone before him spilled it and fled to do something else. Anyone allow their employees to drink in customer cars? My aunt tells me they were able to get 90% of the stain out, so I will go and find something else to remove the remainder if possible. You shouldn't have to clean your after right after getting it cleaned. I'll need to find out how much she paid.
