Long handle wash brush?

Is there such a thing and if so where from? A friend of mine is wheelchair bound but still likes to keep his 645 convertible looking as good as he can. Obviously he can't reach the middle of the hood, truck or roof without the use of a brush, but wondered if there was something slightly more Autopian than a soft broom?! There are tons of wash brushes on the market, but none seem to have a decent length handle on them.

I go and help him every now and then with swirl removal (which is going to happen regardless), but I can't get there every week to wash the car for him.

So, any suggestions? I'm in the UK but am quite happy to buy it from wherever.

Any help much appreciated,

Ben.

BenP- Griot's offers a flow-through BHB with a long handle but I found it a bit awkward.

I forget the details, but a company that sells high quality BHBs offers one on a long handle too. Thinking...oh well, I can't remember the name..."Braun" perhaps? Do a little searching and you should come up with something.

Even a "regular" BHB could easily be modified to accept a handle, just bore a hole and thread it, or even just use glue.

A big :xyxthumbs to your friend for not letting his situation get the best of his intentions for his car!

I have a vague memory of a long handled brush on QVC  which might be worth looking up. I think they were selling it to caravan owners

If this was my situation I would be highly tempted to get the longest lasting sealant I could (Zaino?) so that for six months all that would be required is a quick wash - and the car would still look great

I got mine from Homebase - it's a Kent long handled job with bristles similar to the Oxo range. Not sure if they still sell them but hope this helps your friend.

IMO the SP ones (and similar) would mar the finish, possibly quite badly. I'd definitely stick with Boar's Hair Brushes.

I believe Autopia are due to stock the Meguiars Body Wash brush in the next few weeks. The handle is interchangable with larger handles if you get other Meguiar's accessories also.

While I understand that many Autopians don't use the chenille mits....I found one at WalMart that has a telescoping handle. After being extended, I think it's about 48" long. It comes with two chenille "bonnets" and swivels nicely. Works very well for reaching all the roof corners of my Excursion without moving the ladder 40 times. They also sell a window washer's aluminum pole that extendeds even further, to which you could attach this chenille part.

Thanks guys, now that ACC is stocking it I'll get him one when I next order (which I'm sure won't be far away!).
