I made some of my world-famous salsa last night, and I must have used the most potent jalapenos in the world. I washed my hands several times, yet my eye nearly fell out of its socket this morning when I tried to put my contact in - ouch. Hopefully no corneal burns.



I have since washed my hands with distilled white vinegar, apple cider vinegar, and regular soap several more times, but it seems I still can't get rid of the oil on my hands.



Do you guys know of any solutions (besides wearing gloves in the future)?
 
Rub your hands on stainless steel (sink).





Believe it or not, Queer Eye had this as one of their "hip tips" for garlic odor removal. I was pretty floored by how well/easily it works.





Give 'er a go.
 
You can also send a sample of the salsa to me and that will will take it off your hands too! Something in the shipping and writing my address on the package! LOL



I think they say drink milk if it gets too hot on your tongue so maybe it would work on your hands as well?



How about throwing the receipe up here!
 
I did place my hands in a bowl of milk and it seemed to help.





Some of the recipe isn't measured exactly, but...



1/3 medium white onion

1 pod from a clove of garlic

~10 small leaves of cilantro

1-2 large jalapenos

1 whole lime (juice only)

1 tsp. - 1 tbs. salt

1 large can diced tomatoes (24 oz. - 30 oz.)



Place onion, garlic, cilantro, and jalapeno into food processor. Once chopped, add with tomatoes, salt, and lime juice in a blender and blend until desired consistency.
 
Dude I freakin' love salsa. I chock mine full of cumin which a lot of people turn their nose up at. I like the taste.



Did you try spritzing your hands with Z6? Okay on a serious note I agree with Seth on the Gojo recommendation. It hasn't let me down yet.

I thought you used Griot's? And looking at the Griot's picture, I don't think it's the GoJo Natural Orange stuff I thought it was, but it might be the stuff that Spilchy linked.

I do use Griot's, but I thought since they were PROBABLY the same thing, I would recommend the more economical of the two to Zane. If they're in fact not the same thing, disregard my last message, but still try the GoJo as the pummice and citrus cleaner will probably help cut through the mess on your hands.



The GoJo Spilchy linked to sounds just like the Griot's, but I haven't tried that specific labelled version of the cleaner yet ;)
