Liquid Souveran

I was wondering if anyone has tried with the new Liquid Souveran. :sosad

While checking out the Pinnacle line on properautocare.com, I happended to notice this new product. It looks like an attempt to combine the benefits of polys with carnuba wax. See:

I was considering going with Blackfire or Platinum UPP, which I have read can produce a fairly good 'carnuba-like' shine with the longevity of a poly. While some swear by Zaino others prefer a different look ( less plasticy ).

Any comments on Liquid Souveran or these other polys appreciated.:nixweiss

I've used it. Do some searches on it. I'm sure I put some pics in the review. I'm actually pretty happy with it. At first I thought it created kind of a blurry reflection, but I've changed my mind on that one. I think it looks great.

I would rate it with most other carnuba waxes as far as how long it will last. Maybe 2 months at best. Carnubas aren't used for longetivity; they are used for appearance. If apperance is what you want and the price is right, then LS is your pony. Check out the product review forum for the review on it. :xyxthumbs

What I don't understand is why you would put LS over Souveran Paste (as is stated in a CMA tip) since LS is more like a Poly. It seems to me you'd put the Paste of the LS.

Any thoughts ?

I don't know what kind of a poly LS could be. From what I have seen, it doesn't last much longer than your average carnuba. I applied it over Platinum UPP and then put P21S on top of it. I put one coat of Souveran on top of the P21S but I didn't like the way it looked after a rainstorm. So I put another coat of P21S over the top.

My wife's car just has one layer each of AIO, UPP, and LS. I'd have to check to see when I did that, but it has to be 6 weeks to 2 months ago. It still beads pretty well, though obviously not like it did for the first 4 weeks.

Most waxes contain polymers (eg. Pinnacle waxes, Meguair's #26, Meguiar's Gold Class) but they play no role in the durability of a product. Why? Because they do not crosslink with each other nor with the substrate to which they are applied. The word polymer can be used to describe so many different things (including many different silicones), but a true poly-sealant (like Zaino or Klasse) forms a tough cohesive, repeating chain of 'structured' molecules that bond (i.e. cure or crosslink) with each other and to the paint's surface. Liquid soveran, IMO, does no such thing.

However, I do agree with you in that LS should be applied first and then the paste!
