Hi Stephan:Stephan said:LinkBacks (Trackbacks, Pingbacks and Refbacks) allow you to notify another site that you wrote something related to what is written on a specific page. This improves the chances of contributors to this page noticing that you gave them credit for something, or that you improved upon something they wrote.
It looks like maybe if you have your profile set up to receive emails when someone has replied to one of your threads???
If its not then I am not sure.
Never would have guessed.CharlesW said:The email notification about thread replies was great, but if getting all those LinkBack notices is part of the deal, then I can do without both.
Gee, does it come across like I don't care for LinkBacks?

Other than the original 10, I have not received anymore notifications of LinkBacks. However, I did try to disable the e-mail notifications in the "Options" of the User Control Panel. As of right now, I don't know if that is the reason I no longer get the LinkBack notifications or if they were indeed a glitch and the situation has been resolved. The Fuzz said:Are you still getting them or was this a one time occurance that people are still talking about and assuming is going to be a regular thing without even asking Dwayne if it is a new feature of the site or just an innocent glitch that happened and is now over with?

This morning I had 10 e-mail notifications of LinkBacks for different threads.
None of them seemed to be relevant to me or the thread.
Obviously, they must serve some purpose, but so far I haven't figured them out.
