Limescale problem

Hi how do you go about removing limescale that builds around door hinges,molding,etc. My water is very hard and thus I can't avoid this problem without installing a filter. The most common advice I got is to use HF diluted 1:1 but I'd like to see a second opinion before using such a strong acid to clean this up it looks sort of like this but not this severe

I'd pick up the ValuGard ABC wash/decontamination system for something like that....

[Edit: added 12/10 ] Do not use Hydrofluoric (HF) acid on paintwork as it will permeate the paint system and cause problems that may not be immediately apparent

Are you serious ? Is this the stuff that come out of your tap? How do you cook or bathe with water like this?

I just have a hard time believeing it could be this bad. Is this well water or something else.

Thanks for all the replies guys Picked up valugard ABC at DD hopefully it'd do the job...



@Gears...it's not as severe as pictured...the one in the picture has fallout all over..Mine is only at nooks,door jambs and crevices....And it only started to be noticable after a year or so...
