Limescale problem

Hi how do you go about removing limescale that builds around door hinges, molding, etc. My water is very hard and thus I can't avoid this problem without installing a filter. The most common advice I got is to use HF diluted 1:1 but I'd like to see a second opinion before using such a strong acid to clean this up it looks sort of like this but not this severe

Are you serious ? Is this the stuff that come out of your tap? How do you cook or bathe with water like this?

I just have a hard time believeing it could be this bad. Is this well water or something else.

Thanks for all the replies guys :) Picked up valugard ABC at DD hopefully it'd do the job...

@Gears...it's not as severe as pictured...the one in the picture has fallout all over..Mine is only at nooks, door jambs and crevices....And it only started to be noticable after a year or so...

Man, I'm struggling with this. We have hard water being in the New England region, but this is something different. I've never seen lime accumulate on a car. I do see it in the kitchen around faucets, toilet, etc. But on the car :ohwell:
