Lighting???

I bought a 500 watt halogen work light to aid in my polishing. I went to use it this weekend and when i held it up to my car NOTHING! I couldnt see a single swril. I know they are there from being in the sun. What gives? Is 500 too weak? does the light need to be held further away? The thing is bright as hell!

Try oblique angles. Meaning tilt the light so that it hits the paint at an angle.

Are you pointing the lights at the car or up so that you just get bright light and how close to the car are they. They four that I have here will light up any part of the car and show me everything!
