Liability Insurance

Just One More Coat
I read a thread some time back that was on liability insurance and how to go about getting it. Can someone enlighten me as to what I need to know and who to shop with.
I am getting ready to write a proposal to the board of directors of a local private golf and CC. They are looking at putting a detailing service on their premises and I have been selected. Its going to take my biz to the next level, but I need some help from the pro's

Thanks

Hi Bemmer, I will post since no one has yet. Liability insurnace is a must have. Most major insurance companies have what they call garage keepers insurance. I have mine through American Family which is nation wide. Make sure you go over with the agent what exactly you will be doing within your shop, example 1. will you be driving customers cars?
2. Will you be leaving cars parked on your facility overnight?
3. is engine detail part of your service ?
4. will you have employees working on cars as well.?
5. what is the average cost of vehicles you detail (dealer cars vs exotics, big difference)
6. will you be buffing (yes they want to know)
7. will you have cash on site in your shop?
they will also come out and check your facility, and see what type of construction you have, fire proof walls, alarm,
check for safety ect> they don't cover everybody, you do have to meet a certain criteria. Your next step once you get that done is to obtain a limited liabilty policy, which protects your assets from being sued, this is done with an Attorney. If you are going to do it, do your homework first. Good Luck< and last, you will need a web site to promote your services, feel free to look around in mine. www.perfectautofinish.com
