Let EX-P and KLASSE SG sit a while ???

I know we've talked about this at length, but I did a friend's car the other day with AIO/SG and while AIO said OK to wipe off immediately, SG said to let dry.

I was wondering....is there any benefit to letting it dry an hour? 3 hours? 12 hours...before you take it off? Or once it's dried, anything beyond is not adding anything?

I know we've said that before applying an ADDITIONAL layer you should let the 1st layer bond for 24 hours (some say 72 hours)....I'm talking about when you apply whichever layer, how long do you let it haze on the car.

Interested in Poorboy's thoughts on EX-P here since I may use it this weekend...
 
i try to let the sg dry for about 30 minutes before removing. i notice more of a gloss than when i do a wowo method. cant comment on durabilty since i didnt give it a chance, but i did a followup wash on a customers car that i applied sg wowo 2 months ago and its beading nicely, with good shine and gloss.


i once let SG haze over night and gave it a wash to remove the haze and residue. there was NO beading, but thats not fair because i applied the sg after #80 and the oils did an adverse effect on sg bonding...

SG was not formulated with the intent of it being a WOWO product. The WOWO method was simply devised as a way to make application and removal of SG more user friendly (by Bill North, I think).

That said, I do believe in letting sealants sit on the paint for a while before removal. My preferred minimum is 30 minutes and I have gone as long as overnight and as short as removing within 10 minutes. I have never used the WOWO method with SG because of what I said above but I do think it is slightly easier to remove after letting it sit a while.

Remember, the key is to apply as thinly as possible, almost the point of questioning if any is actually on the paint. SG can become very finicky if you apply too much.
 
I'm letting my SG layers take 18-24 hours this weekend....before and after pics to to come.
