LED light bulbs

Okay, here's the skinny...I've done some reading on these LED light bulbs. I was wondering what some of you guys think about them. I have seen them on some semi trailers and they look pretty neat. I was thinking about getting some for my truck. I understand that they draw less current than the filament type bulbs (and that this sometimes causes the auto to 'think' it has a blown bulb) and they are "not as bright." Supposedly they are more intense (for lack of a better word) and last longer. Anyone have any experience with these? Any opinons? As always, thanks a million.
 
I like them! Check the newer Caddilac taillights and turn signals.

I had a problem with them when I installed them in my turn signsls. They made the turn signals blink at what appeared to be double speed. But I like the color and intensity.
 
I put a set on my detail trailer. They work great. I really got tired of replaceing bulbs. I noticed that they come on faster than normal bulbs.
They are brighter. I have yet to install them on a car though.
 
We always spec them for our new truck purchases and now that the new ones are brighter, we are going to all LED light bars for our new police cars.
The new generation of LEDs can be seen at a wider angle and are really bright. They will last forever too. Well, at least until you get rid of whatever has them. There is one downside to them. They do diminish in intensity with age. I don't think that's a big deal though.
 
Starting to show up on some Street Rods as they keep up with the newest technology. They work very well in the daylight and are exceptional at night. No doubt in a few years they will be the standard item. Draw less power and last much longer than the conventional bulbs.
 
Thanks a million guys. I will probably order some stop/tail, turn signal, and high mount stop lights. I really appreciate all the input. DC sure is great!!
