Leather conditioner

Hoping the community can recommend me a good product that will soften up my seats. The car it's a 1990 and these are the original seats. They're in good shape overall but the leather is a little hard from being so old. I'd like to be able to bring them back so they'll last a few more years and not crack at all. They don't have any cracks or damage now. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I haven't had time to add autopia to my .htaccess yet so please copy and paste the links or you'll see my "don't steal bandwidth" pic instead of black leather seats.

My vote is for Leather Master. Use the Strong Cleaner, but cut it first and do a small area. Finish with the Leather Protection Cream.

Is it personal preference for leather master vs leatherique? Or is there a glaring diference? My seats are almost cardboard hard.

Hello and welcome. I guess your links don't work as our profanity filter picked them up.

Thanks! Glad to be here. Hope to find good info.

life is unfiltered, the internet should be too. Here they are again spaced out.

Leathermax from Britemax, cant tell you enough how good it is. I love the product line, its all I really use on my customer's cars, and thats what I would recommend. I used to use Leatherique, but I like how Leathermax keeps the Leather soft, used it on my baby with original seats 4 years ago... not a crack yet... ;)

Thanks everyone. After reading about all 3 products I think leatherique is the one i'm going to go with. It seems as though it will do the best job softening up my seats after years of neglect. Leather master would probably do it too but for the money I can get a larger bottle of leatherique in case more applications are required to get the seats feeling right again.

Leatherique is the best for restoring old leather, however it is too much work as a maintenance product. After restoring them leather masters is great or 1z leather care.

Welcome to Autopia! Just make sure you read up on the Leatherique process so you're prepared for the rather considerable job that's involved. To be honest, my Leatherique (bought during a group buy) has just sat on the shelf as I simply never want to go through all the hassle.

FWIW, the LeatherMasters stuff really does work well, at least IME and it sure is user-friendly. Nice, simple process..no trash bags, heat, etc. It softened up seats in a number of bought-used vehicles that I suspect were similar to what you're dealing with.
