Leather and Not Leather

In cleaning leather seats and leather bits in a car, how do you tell what is leather and what is vinyl, pleather, etc. I ask because I remember when I got a car (think two cars ago) the front of the seats were leather and the backs and door inserts etc were fake leather.



The car I wondering about specifically is a 2007 Acura MDX.

That can be tough. Many cars have just leather seat facings. I wanted to know on my car, which has a full leather option, exactly where the leather was. I contacted the mfr and they responded back to me within a day or two with everything that was the real deal - - I was amazed.



Wear becomes apparent on real leather vs. faux leather. However, an '07 vehicle may not be showing much wear yet. Is there an Acura forum where you could ask? Maybe someone would know, Captain.
