LC Pad Size Question

I have some 6.5" pads and 2 new orange LC CCS 5.5" pads I'm using on the PC. I haven't used the 5.5 on the PC yet cuz I'm waiting to get a general consensus from ya'll. Will it be easier for the 5.5 to damage the paint compared to the 6.5 I need to order some new polishing and finishing pads this weekend and I was wondering I should go with.

The chances of damaging the paint are quite small if you are using the PC and not intentionally trying to to wreck the paint. Yes, it will cut through the paint quicker if you apply the same amount of pressure, but smaller pads will make heavy polishing easier due to it's concentrated pressure and thus more effective nature. Since you have 6.5" pads, I would go for the 5.5" pads, maybe even the 4" pads.

I love the 5.5 inch low profile pads from autogeek. They cut really fast and are a breeze to work with! You cant go wrong with those.

I was looking at the ones from Danase...looks like a deal I can't beat $39 for 6 mix/match pads plus out discount and I love dealing with Bob...I'll look at those AG ones

yea the Danase ones are nice too. Make sure you have a right size backing plate for those, mine go right up to the edge on Bobs pads. I like that though.

Anyways, i think AG has a sale on their 5.5" ones too. 29.99 for 6 I believe.

check it out.

+1

For that price even if they are crappy pads (didn't say brand) they can be throw away type pads. Definatly something worth while!
