Layering the LSP on your customers' cars

When you do a full detail for a customer, how many layers of sealant do you put on their car(s). If a layer requires 12 hours to cure, do you go back the next morning to add another layer? Or when you do a customer's car, are you limited to doing only one layer?

I'll do jet seal and top it with a wax but I will not layer waxes...

I will sometimes apply the same wax twice, let's say CIW 845 for ensuring even coverage. I'll go around the car, let it haze, remove, do it again, let it haze, remove, buff.

I do 2-3x of Z2/5pro on my customers cars right after each other. No need to wait.

If using Clear Seal I do the 2 application of 2/5pro.

Followed by Z8.

I have done 3x of Z2pro, 1x of CS followed by Z8 within 3 hours on my brothers vette without any issues.

+1, but most customers come back to me within 4-5 months.;)

I'm assuming that's good! Or did you expect it to last longer? If so, try the 476s paste... it's a PITA to remove if you let it dry if you apply too thick though.

I only do one car a weekend so I always get it on Friday night and they get it back Sunday. So I always do two coats of whatever topper and then follow up, right before they pick it up, w/AW.

I dont, i just wax or seal then im done.

Same here. I really don't see a point in layering, other than maybe two layers to ensure full coverage. I've never seen an appreciable visible or durability difference between layering and not layer and therefore don't see a reason to sell 'layering' to my customers.

I alter my Zaino layering between 2-5 coats depending on the customers needs. I see a difference in layering personally, and think 2 coats of Zaino at least equal in appearnce to other sealants if not better, while the full 5 takes it to a whole new level.

It is a little more time consuming, but I charge by the hour, and since the results are dramatic, it is almost as fun as polishing with my rotary.
