Layering NXT and BM

Hey guys

I did a search and looked on the Meg's site as well but couldn't find out how to layer Meg's NXT Tech Wax PASTE. I read the label but it doesn't say how long it takes to cure. I'm having the same problem with Black Magic liquid wax.

So a couple questions:

NXT paste vs Black magic - which will give a wetter look to a silver car after proper prep?

Layering - how long does each take to cure?

If the car is driven in between layering should I wash it?

throw the Black Magic in the trash-it's full of oils-and is notorious for smearing(at least it was for me). NXT paste is pretty decent and after curing 12 hours another layer is possible.

^ 12-24 hours is the typically accepted answer.

And if it were me, yes, I would wash the car if it was driven between applications.

Is there anything I can add to give it a more in-depth shine?

My current process is:

Wash w/ Meg's Nxt Gen

Clay Magic

Wash maybe?

Hand polish - scratch X

Meg's paste wax

Is there anything in between the polish and wax that can add to the depth or after the wax?

How many coats of wax so you guys usually put? And is it the same amount of time to cure between the 2nd and 3rd coat?

NXT needs ~12 hours to fully cure to achieve the max benefits. According to Meguiar's online, you can't truly layer NXT in the traditional sense.

The reason is that NXT contains cleaners. The cleaners will remove some of the original layer. For NXT, multiple layers will ensure even appearance and coverage. If you want to put something on top of NXT, try a pure wax (no cleaners).

Optimum Car Wax doesn't have cleaners. I plan on using 2 coats of Poorboy's EXP topped with 2 coats of OCW. I'll reapply a coat of OCW after each wash.

So let's say I did this:

waxed with NXT

waited 12-24 hours

wash

apply layer of optimum car wax (would this provide a wetter look than natty's blue on a silver car?)

do i wait another 12-24 hours before i apply another coat of optimum?

How about after a good coating of NXT Tech paste (I applied mine with the pc and it was awesome), you follow-up with NXT Tech spray every few washes or so - it seems to be working for me.

(Although I have to say I'm lured by other products like Klasse, Zaino, Duragloss, etc. as with our winters here in the Northeast and fall quickly coming, I seek something really good to get through the winter).

I've never used Natty's so I don't know...technically, I've never used OCW either. It should be arriving via UPS today. My plan is based on what other's have done.

I plan on waiting a good 12 hours between coats of OCW. My plan is to apply it over the course of a long weekend. If time doesn't permit, I'll just go with one coat of OCW and wash the car a week later and reapply a second coat.

I'm in the same boat. I plan on using EX-P sealant rather than Klasse (easier application.) The OCW is a hybrid wax/sealant. Repeated applications over the EX-P should give 4-5 months protection (hopefully...I don't know for sure.)

I hate the Nxt spray. Maybe it's because I used a foam applicator. I'll give it another shot with a mf applicator and see if that helps. To be honest, it takes just as a long to apply a full coat of NXT liquid. Also, there is no way that spray is lasting thru a single wash. It's soooo thin and I've noticed that I lost any slickness from it after a wash.
