layering carnauba

does anyone here layer carnauba waxes? and does anyone layer different brands? is there any benefit? for example, if i have blitz (known more for durability than shine) on first and put a layer of p21s/s100 (known for shine more than durability) will i get the hybrid benefits of both?

btw, after all my questions i DO have klass AIO and SG on the way. soon this question will be, if i have AIO and SG, will i see benefits of blitz and p21s, etc... (=

thanks

How about you do it one step at a time :) and work out your Klasse adventures first.

There are some techniques used to help layer carnauba's. some members of the board have used these Concours techniques.

If you're around a monday or wednesday night, the chatroom is an excellent source for answer all your questions all at once.

thanks. i was wondering about layering the wax cuz i have a coat of blitz on now, putting another coat on tomorrow. p21 (actually s100) i'll have by the weekend. klasse wont be here til next week and i prob wont have time to apply it (full detail) til mid may. so i thought i'd layer my carnaubas til then.. thanks, though i'll check out the chat

but it is important to understand the term when applying it to carnubas. Layering a carnuba adds little to durability. In a sense, because a carnuba formula contains solvents to soften the carnuba it is almost kind of like a reapplication of carnuba but adding more oil. Layering carnuba can have a visual cosmetic effect. If you don't notice a difference you are basically kind of reapplying and not adding any more protection unless the first coat has deteriorated over a few weeks time.

P21s over Blitz = stunning.

Especially on dark cars.

You get the depth of Blitz and reflection of P21s.

Blitz once a month and P21s once a week. P21s goes on

very quick so you can throw it on after your Saturday wash.

If you want to go one further get Collinte Marque and

incorporate it in the system. I found that the Collinite hides

swirls and spiderwebbing. The three together look incredible.

Play around cause wax/sealant presentation is a very personal

thing. Some like the sealant look and some like the carnauba

look.

I hope this helps.

as said in previous posts.

It doesn't add that much durability, probably very small amount of durability if any.

Just remember to allow time for the carnauba wax to cure/harden. This usually takes a few days.

Heres a beige camry with Klasse (AIOX1 and SG X3) applied in one day, and topped with several carnaubas over the course of several weeks (2X Souveran 1X Blitz 2X Paste Glaz.)

I would much rather layer the SG over several days to allow proper bonding and curing, than to do SG in one day, and then over several weeks apply the carnuba.. Carnuba wax is a cinch to apply, but the SG should be done with time and care.. Its the products which is going to last the longest out of the two.

Just layer your Klasse Glaze until you don't see anymore shine from another layer and start applying two coats of wax every week until you don't see much more shine and then start using another wax and so forth. Once one product doesn't make your car shine more just swap to another and start layering something else.

After 4 months of this you'll have enough wax on your car to stick a wick in it and call it a candle.
