Layer Souveran over Zaino?

So I just bought a PC from autogeek and the package comes with two Pinnacle polishes and a bottle of Souveran wax.

I got the package for the PC and the polishes and all the pads, but wasn't planning on using the wax... however I've seen that some people put the Souveran OVER the Zaino?

You guys recommend this?

Thanks :)

I don't. I suppose if all you want is a bit more shine, you can give it a shot. However, it will reduce the longevity of the finish you get from Zaino.

How can you compate zaino to souveran? Totally different league, topping zaino with souv will make zaino look WAY better.

IMO I like the the look of nuba on my vehicles. I just purchased 2 tins of PS paste and layed on a coat over AJT. I can say this AJT looked awesome but with PS over it looked even better. Brighter wetter and crisper are the words to describe the look. I layered 16 over zaino and i thought that nice this is EVEN better.

on some colors Zaino can look sterile

i have layered Swissol Concorso over Zaino, it adds that gloss and depth, but does reduce clarity (only slightly with Concorso vs other carnaubas)

Here are 2 black cars that where final polished with 106ff:

Like I said... if you just want a short term wet look, go with the waxes... if you want it to last (try the water beading test as a great example), use Zaino alone.

This may not thrill people for me to say, but.... Waxes look great, but never last. Hell, 99% of the waxes out there start to break down at 120-135 degrees. Any idea what temp the paint on a car gets to out in the heat (I am in Texas!)?

BTW... try using baby oil, etc as a top coat... will look amazing wet, slick, etc. Most of your waxes have a high concentration of oil in them as well. This is a major reason that your freshly waxed car will get a haze on it if left out in the heat. The oil separates from the wax and comes to the surface. Meanwhile, the wax (as all do) will just catch all the dirt and dust.

Using it on a show car? Go for the waxes.... definately looks great, but doesn't offer the long term type of protection my daily-driver customers want.

A topper shouldn't affect the durability of the sealant underneath as long as you let the sealant cure properly - give it a good 24hrs before you top it.

I agree with you! Here is Trade Secerts on the left and PS and right. Looks just a little softer and I think better depth and wettness on dark colors. Light colors sealants have the edge, atleast I think they do.

Thanks for the input guys :)

I was hoping to get out and polish this weekend... but my darn PC isn't going to get here until Monday so sad :(

I've layered Z5 Pro over PS, and vice versa, didn't really have any bonding issues either way.

Even put CS over PS, no bonding issues. But to be honest, I like the Zaino, but it doesn't have that look of PS, nothing does...

You mean Souveran by itself? Or with Zaino?

PS by itself has a very unique look, the kind that appeals to me. But for every strength on most products, there is a weakness. That is why there is a wide range of choices for different

applications.
