Layer Gold Class?

I finally "did the works" to my car. Dawn wash, paint cleaning, swirl removal, polishing, and waxing. I used Meguiar's Gold Class Liquid Car Wax. Can I put more coats of Gold Class? Will it do any good?

Do I have to wash the car again? It spends most of its time in a garage, but I do have to drive it today. I use the CCD. Will QD (Meguiar's Quick Detailer) adversely affect a second coat? Will it help?

Thanks to everyone here for all the info and suggestions. I haven't had a chance to take pictures yet. I'll do that later today.

That was exhausting. I have a lot of respect for the work you detailers do. :bow

You can layer on the Gold Class, but wait 3 or 4 days to let the wax cure, then layer.

If the car is real dirty give it a wash then apply another coat. If it's just got daily driven dust use your CCD and a QD then apply the coat.:up

GC has enough chemical cleaners in it that it will remove most of the protection from coat #1.

That doesn't mean its a bad idea. Extra coats tend to even out the shine and protection. It's almost impossible to apply a consistent layer of protection with only one application of product, regardless of what it is.

So adding a second layer of GC won't mean you have two coats, more like 1.5 or 1.25 coats. But the shine might improve a little and so will the amount of protection. Plus it will be much easier to do and won't take much time. I say go for it.:up

Thanks for the quick replies:wavey

I guess I'll be putting on another layer.

Next question, after I put the next layer, would it do any good to put Meguiar's #26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax? And, if so, would that be something to layer?

edit: Yippee, that was post #100. :bounce

Yeah I'm pretty sure #26 Hi-Tech will layer since it's non-cleaner. If you're into pastes I've seen it as low as $13.... at a marine store! Pays to shop around sometime. I was soooo tempted to buy it but I have 0 use for it.

Maybe I should buy it to use on friends' cars? :nixweiss
