2005 Chevy Trailblazer. So new it still has the dealer tags. Customer wisely passed on dealer prep. ;) Paint was very smooth (no claying needed) so I just applied a coat of Collinite 845 Insulator Wax by hand. Note the low level of orange peel on this truck-pretty impressive!

Collinite 845 beading at 4 weeks:

1998 BMW 740. Regular bi-weekly wash customer. Told me to polish and wax it good enough for his eyes, not mine. He doesn't need a concours level finish on a daily driver. ;)

Had some scratches in the trunk lid and hood, so I polished those areas using Optimum Compound and a Meguiars cutting pad, then went over the whole car with Optimum Polish and a Meguiars polishing pad and finished with Optimum Car Wax by hand. I'm really happy with how deep and rich the polishing and OCW left this 7-year-old black paint. Also notice my car doesn't look too bad next to it!

Photography tip for black paint-partly cloudy with both blue sky and clouds visible in the paint looks really cool. :)

2004 Acura MDX. Regular customer, he washes it himself (touchless car wash, then dries it with MFs) 4 times a week and I wax it 5-6 times a year. Some lowlife keyed his MDX on the driver's side and it was repainted-very well, I might add, although there were some light rotary swirls left. Unfortunately, the combination of diffused sun through the clouds and metallic pop makes them very hard to see in this pic, you have to really look to see them around where the sun is hitting the paint:

After Optimum Compound with a Meguiars cutting pad (on the sections repainted only), then Optimum Polish with a Meguiars polishing pad and topped with 1Z Glanz Wax. Of course, lighting and angle are somewhat different so a real comparison is difficult-the pitfalls of before and afters with changing light conditions. Oh well.

Got some nice metallic pop:

Then the sun went away before I got the full car shots.

Upcoming project-will it buff right out? ;)

I have GOT to get some Collinite 845! Is it easy to remove?

I'd say its on the "meh" side of the scale for removal, but on the "WHOA!" side of the scale for looks. :) :LOLOL

Looks great Scott!

hey scott,

on the 98 bmw 740, did that just recently happen to the headlight?

No, it has been that way since before the last time I polished and waxed it (#80 and Long Haul, if I remember right) back in early May.

Is Collinite 845 the only thing on the Benz????

Yes, a single application of 845 after polishing with Optimum compound and polish. It has been through one tunnel wash (according to the owner's wife) and a couple days of rain since I detailed it 4 weeks earlier.

Not that i need any more products but the word is out on Collinite! now seeing more and more posts of its durability it has got to be on my "to get" list.

I am also interested in how easy the removal is??
