2000 (I think) BMW M roadster (is that even the right name?). New customer I got from rlspringer, he is just so overloaded with boats that it is too hard to get out to my side of town to take care of this customer so he gave me a call. :) They have the roadster and a new RX330. Once a month, wash one, wax the other for a set price. Well taken care of too. No pics of the RX330 this time since all I did was wash it.

For the M, I polished it with Klasse AIO and a Meguiars polishing pad and topped with Jeff's Werkstatt Acrylic Jett (how I wish the name was shorter!) by hand.

Notice how the cloud's reflection bends around the fender. :cooleek:

Beautiful work as always, those M roadsters are fast. I think I recall seeing one at the track, bone stock, driven by an experienced driver, and it got low 12's.

2004 Ford Expidition. Normally use Klasse AIO and #16 on this one-last done on February 9th, and today, July 6th, it was still beading and looked really good. Not much slickness left using my hand but the towels still ran smoothly over it without grabbing. Looked pretty decent too.

Anyway, it needed some deeper polishing this time so I used Optimum Polish with a Meguiars polishing pad and topped with Menzerna Full Molecular Jacket, which I got as a sample from a fellow Autopian. Both my son and I tried out the application and we both agree it is very easy to use. Apply to a panel or two at a time and remove. Hazes quickly and is very slick. Real wet look too. :)

Took this pic inside, knowing what the sun does to white paint.

Sun shots. I hate taking pics of white vehicles with the sun directly overhead because it washes out most of the wet look. Better than dealing with a rainy week though. ;)

2005 Cadillac Escalade ESV. Regular customer, traded in their black Escalade ESV (yea!) on this brand new pearl colored one. Should be a much better choice considering they have kids. Dealer prep seemed pretty good on this one. No swirls (because she told them not to wax it) and the paint was smooth so no claying was needed. Just did a QEW wash and topped with Optimum Car Wax. Gave it a real nice glow with excellent slickness. The 22s are a bit much for me though.

2005 Ford Freestyle. My brother's Mother-in-Law's new SUV/car. Her son is a salesman at the dealership and made sure they did an ABC wash to remove rail dust. Paint was swirl free so no polishing was needed. They are doing house construction in her area so I wanted something very durable. I used Collinite 870 Fleetwood Wax applied with a Meguiars polishing pad. Comes off pretty easily, has good slickness and a nice carnauba glow.

Very nice job on all of the cars as usual. The M is incredible. The pic of it in the garage makes it look like souveran was used. I always enjoy looking at your work.

Blah blah blah (Great Job again)

I was curious about your thoughts on FMJ Vs. WAJ.

Are there any similiarities between the 2?

Ease of use, is WAJ as easy to use as FMJ?

Wonderful looking M roadster Scott. The Explorer has pop to it as well.

On your recommendation, I picked up the entire Werkstatt line. My previous favorite sealants are Zaino and FMJ. Haven't tried Poorboy's EX or EX-P yet.

So I will probably do Prime, AJ, and then top with FMJ!

I imagine you still prefer EX on dark colors, to AJ, as far as sealants go?

- J

PS: I'll be sure to post my impressions for you as well.

Scott...

How did you like the Optimum Polish??? I keep hearing great things about it. Is it as easy to use with a PC as a rotary?????

Great details as always... :bow :bow

No actual product similarities that I can see. FMJ is a somewhat thin pink liquid and AJ is white and pretty watery (like Glanz Wax or Klasse SG). There won't be any suggestions that one company relabels the other's products! ;)

I'd give a slight nod to FMJ for ease of use but neither is difficult at all. FMJ is a bit slicker after initial application but AJ catches up after it cures for a few hours. No idea on durability since I just got the FMJ.

JustinTRW-I don't know that you'd need to top AJ with anything unless you want to tweak the appearance for some reason.

Yes, on dark, non metallic colors, I still prefer EX w/carnauba or Wolfgang.

Pat-I really like Optimum Polish and yes, it works very well via PC. Stays wet for a while too, so you can work it a long time if needed.

I guess this is a lot easier on a high bandwith connection eh Scott? But hey, its already 9:19, shouldn't you be doing those two black full sun details yet? :p

I really like that escalade. If you're ever up in Canada, mainly Manitoba (I have no idea why you would want to be, but whatever), make sure you let me know, and you can stay here. I'd love for you to show me some tricks, and take some quality photographs!

Morning thunderstorms. I am supposed to start on those cars at around 12:30 PM (CST) so hopefully the storms will have moved through.
