2003 Chevy Silverado SS. Good condition, weekly wash customer. I used Race Glaze Polish & Sealant by hand on this one. I wanted to see how well this product worked by hand. Pretty easy to use, a bit more bite than NXT or Car Polishes Final Polish, appearance similar to NXT. I am satisfied with the look and ease of use, now for the durability test! Since I see it weekly and wash it conventionally using deionized water, it will pretty easy to monitor the beading, slickness and overall appearance.

2004 Mazda6. I wash a couple cars each week at this office, this Mazda in particular about once a month, the rest of the time it goes though a tunnel car wash. I used Race Glaze P & S with a polishing pad and topped with Natty's Paste. P & S really does a good job via PC, wipes off with ease.

My own car. 1999 Mazda 626. Not a whole lot of time to spend on my car these days since it gets dark so early. I used Clearkote's Vanilla Moose, Yellow Wax (a test glaze) and Carnauba Moose, all by hand. Deeper and softer look than UPP gave me.

2001 Dodge Dakota. Oldie by goodie combo. Clayed the horizontal surfaces, Vanilla Moose and EX-P by hand. No close outlet for the PC and paint was in excellent condition anyway.

Notice how the bright sun tends to wash out the wet look and the shade brings it out.

Before and after shots are tough, this one worked okay. 1996 BMW 740 that I detail a couple times a year but it had been nearly a year since I had seen it this time.

Before shot of hood:

After polishing with DACP and #80 via PC and polishing pads.

I finished the car off with Poorboy's EX w/carnauba. Yes, the wheels do look dull. He had them refinished and they forgot to coat them. One trip though a tunnel car wash stained them horribly. The shop is going to redo them.

2004 Ford Excursion. Hit in the rear this summer and of course, rotary swirls all over the tailgate. I wanted to get a few before shots but as you can see, I finished just prior to sundown, just no time to take pics, pull into the garage, polish and pull it back out again. :(

I polished it out with #80 and AIO with a polishing pad...and the back end also got DACP with a polishing pad before the other two steps. Finished with #16 by hand...which glides on like warm butter over AIO. :)

BTW, the headlights are not on, that is the reflection of the setting sun hitting them.

Nice work Scott :xyxthumbs ! This time I'm liking your Mazda the best :D...That soft look..well...looks great :)

My parents picked up their new Silverado today :) ...Home next week to begin the modding and detailing :D.

I got a bunch of Race Glaze Product samples as well. Too bad he got banned from Autopia :( ...I'm gonna email him once I get a chance to give em a shot.

edit: I love a carnauba over AIO. It feels like you barely use any :) ...Did he get new tires for the Excursion yet?

Sean-I am pretty happy how my car came out. I still need to do some more polishing on the passenger side, I can still seem some minor scuffing and cobwebbing when the sun hits it just right...but compared to when I first got my hands on the car the improvement is massive.

Those wheels and tires on the Excursion came off his F250 that he traded in when he got the Excursion. I don't know when he plans on getting new tires, but the tread on the sides makes dressing them a PITA!

 Stunning work as always. Wish we had quality detailers like you out here in WA. Looks like your parked in the tow area again though ;)

I am just looking at your awesome work instead of going to bed, but let me ask you a question please?

When you take a "full car shot", how far away are you from the car? In all your pictures the cars fill out the picture and at the same time look "bigger" then let's say my pictures. Just the way I'd like my pictures to look. (just trying to learn)

Thanks Scottwax!

I normally use my 28-80 zoom lens, I just adjust the lens until the vehicle fills it up without chopping off any of it.

Thanks, but how far away are you phisically from the cars?

:nixweiss Far enough so I can get in the image with the lens at around 50-60mm so I don't get the fisheye effect. I have no real idea how far. If I have to stand back a bit to get a shot from a higher angle, I have to move back more or zoom out a bit.

Scott,

I have been watching the transformation of your Mazda over the past couple of months. It just seems to get better every time you detail it. Absolutely incredible. Just when you think it could not look any better it does.

Mainly based on your posts I am getting EX as a Christmas gift, and am eagerly anticipating trying it on my Jet Black BMW.

Great work Scott. Thanks for the pics!

I have to use that one some time. :)

excellent work! my question for ya is: most of your polishing steps are usually light in my opinion like 80 with a polishing pad by PC. i have a PC and i have used some of your usual combo's before and they left me yearning to keep tackling swirls. are you able to do "good" swirl removal with those combo's? or do you do 80 with a polishing pad becasue it is "descent" at swirl removal and you can go to a lsp afterward which saves on time? the reason i am asking is because even with DACP on my PC, i still didn't feel i was getting all the swirls i should be getting. i have now switched a rotary and absolutely love it, but i see you are still rockin the PC and just wondering how your swirl removal goes with your certain steps. thanks in advance for your time. i really enjoy looking at your work and your different combinations of products. always a valuable asset to the site:)

Awsome work as usual. How do you do the windshield piller, Senter piller, and that little fold in the hood on the SS. I have a truck similar to that and was wondering can you do the fold in the hood with a PC?
