Land Rover Discovery

Hey guys, well this is my dad's form of transport. The good old reliable land rover discovery (disco).

It has about 28K miles of neglect and various questionable washing techniques.

But, today I took care of the washing part, this was NOT polished, although it was given a full interior detail and a very thorough wash outside.

I want to clay and polish the whole car, however, my dad is interested in just getting rid of it asap for a BMW 330d.

So here's the pics and a little description

Wash with armour all bug and tar.

Degrease lower half with diluted Meguiars APC.

Alloys were cleaned with Meguiars wheel brightener.

Vinyl treated with gold class

Arches and tyres treated with turtle wax extreme shine. (crap I know but its getting sold asap so no point wasting my good stuff).

Interior had some APC on all surfaces.

APC on carpet and extracted

Leather was spot cleaned with Meguiars carpet and interior cleaner

Dash and mats (drivers was left untreated) with Meguiars natural shine.

Started off ugly, but it does get better.

Nice job. Those wheels great. How long did just the wheels and wheel wells take you? I find that on really bad wheels and wells it will take me a good bit of time to get them clean initially.

The wheels took me maybe 30 mins

The wells took about the same, I pre soaked in APC and then jet washed it off.

Its not perfect as no polishing stages have been completed at this time, but its just a quick one to get the car back on the road and so my dad can take it to the dealer.

Damn nice Disco...I love that color.

I don't think you can get the Disco in a 5 speed in the states anymore

You can, where I live(nyc). They want me to wait for 6.5months. I tell him KMA.

What do you guys dress the black rubber mats with? As they look very dry and greyish when the water has dried up.

Trim Restore or Bold and Bright work very well. btw, very nice clean up job!

Ach its not even polished and it won't be to trade in as I am already imagining how I will recieve the BMW.

But I already have my ideas for that product wise. lol.

So is that stuff slippy cos I find it can be sometimes so I normally just degrease the driver one and leave it at that from a safety point of view.
